I have been working at Timmons Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Great company culture
    - Periodic lunches, happy hours, events (think chili-cook off, office Olympics, random employee appreciation perks)
    - Understanding of non-work obligations / interests
    - Compensated for extra hours
    - Open-concept office space encourages collaboration

    Cons

    - Other posters have hit the nail right on the head – coffee here is pretty bad
    - Only easy way to commute is to drive – closest bus stop is about a mile away and riding your bike on Boulders Parkway is a death wish during rush hour

I have been working at Timmons Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I came to Timmons Group as an Engineer 1 fresh out of college with very minimal "real world" civil design experience. Every single person I have had the pleasure of working with here is patient, helpful, and knowledgeable. They made me feel very comfortable and actually excited to come to work. Timmons Group is truly a "one in a million" place to work. There are numerous social events that allow employees of every level connect and interact in ways they otherwise wouldn't be able to. Timmons is the perfect size for both career growth and a more personal approach to employment. You are not just a number here, and you are never treated like one. Overall, if you work hard, you will be rewarded for it. If you get hired here you have hit the jackpot.

    Cons

The free coffee in the kitchen is pretty bad

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work!

I have been working at Timmons Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The office culture is amazing. They really make you feel like you're a family and not just a number. So many educational opportunities, training, and challenging projects that just promote growth for yourself. Upper management is so willing to take the time to sit with you and teach you new tasks and everyone is approachable.

They go over and beyond to put on company wide events such as anything from happy hours in the office, to competitions like company olympics. It is nice to be reminded they appreciate all the hard work the employees do by fun events every now and then!! Keep up the hard work!

    Cons

I don't think I can come up with any cons that are extreme, I think climate control in the office could be better. (air conditioning on full blast in the office during The winter)

    Advice to Management

I would say that project managers could be better aware of opportunities to take project engineers on site visits. Everyone is busy, but you also don't want to produce CAD robots. In my years at Timmons Group I can count on one hand the amount of times I have been out to a project site.

The coffee could use some help, Starbucks anyone?

    Advice to Management

I have been working at Timmons Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Being in marketing, I work with a lot of different people and personality types. I can honestly say that the staff at Timmons Group are a joy to work with. They make work fun. This is the first job I've had that I actually look forward to work on Sunday evenings. In addition, they offer training for professional development, great benefits, and bonus potential. Communicate well to employees through monthly meetings.

    Cons

The coffee in the kitchen is pretty bad.

I have been working at Timmons Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Timmons Group has been the best firm that I've worked for. From awesome departmental teams to the overall firm culture, hands down, the best company in the area. Leadership is very transparent with an open door policy for communication. They boast a positive work-life balance and don't skimp on the fun company-wide activities. Love it!

    Cons

There's not a lot that I could complain about working here but I do think we could use some better coffee in the breakroom!

    Advice to Management

I'd have to say - keep doing what you're doing, I think our leadership and management team is awesome. Thanks for being so helpful and encouraging!

I worked at Timmons Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Casual work environment, food provided for required lunch time meetings.

    Cons

Poor leadership, no training opportunities, salary is not comparable to industry standards, no bonus or raises, overall a very disappointing firm.

    Advice to Management

Get a clue and also hire someone to salt the parking lot when it snows to avoid a lawsuit.
