I have been working at Tintri full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great technology and compelling value add

    Cons

Management is drinking their own koolaid or has their heads really deep in the sand. The overwhelming theme you find in the reviews on glassdoor are about how the C level management is horrible and I could not agree more. I am at HQ and the mood is less than encouraging day to day.

    Advice to Management

The board should probably replace the whole crew and that means mostly everyone. Perhaps some of the original folks should be kept but its a bad batch.

    Pros

Technology is great some good people to work with. The best storage out there. Keep innovating.

    Cons

There about to be layoffs this week and people are leaving in droves. Even the good ones are leaving. Management is horrible and no wonder why they are in this situation.

    Advice to Management

    Resign

I have been working at Tintri full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Pros:
    - very good product, in terms of features. For a virtualized environment, this product does very well compared to other companies products.
    - good work/life balance
    - technical middle managers.
    - people working there are nice, helpful.

    Cons

    - Non-competitive salary. Options/RSU were supposed to compensate, but the IPO did not fare well.
    - C-level management feels very lost.
    - Marketing of the product has been horrible to date. No improvement even with recent change at VP level.
    - Product quality/stability issues are on the rise.

    Recent development:
    - Company in limbo for past few months, seems like everyone waiting for second round of layoff.
    - Most people have stopped believing in company, feels really let down.
    - Morale/enthusiasm among employees (specifically engineer) very negative, all time low.
    - Hard to impossible to get any new features done.
    - People leaving in droves.

    Advice to Management

    - Need fresh blood in marketing. (Promoting from within does not help, get from outside.)
    - Change in upper mgmt all across the company. They are too political, comfortable working in big companies, not small or startup like.
    - Go private and get back to core.

I worked at Tintri full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Not that I could think of now...

    Cons

Let me start of by saying that Tintri has gone from good to bad to worse in lasat 12 months and fortunately or unfortunately the credit goes to the Tintri board of directors and the so called "C-level" execs (the CEO, CFO, CTO/Founder, ex-CMO and the CPO). You guys single handedly killed this company!

When I joined Tintri, I was bowled over by the passion, motivation, and dedication of my colleagues. We despised the competition and we would work, day and night to make our products better than our competitor's. Then things started to go down hill, we lost sight, had zero corporate/product strategy, we failed to see market trends, and we watched the execs focus on building their own empires rather than its products and employees. They had no hesitation lying on your face over and over again if it benefited them in any shape or form. It has been a ship without a rudder, and continues to drift offcourse.

Employees no longer care about the company, rather than rejoicing in its successes, they actually now loathe this company and its leadership forcing its very own talent to leave the company in droves. The culture became so toxic that it would be depressing working here.

    Advice to Management

You cannot provide any advice to a management team that continues to be blind, deaf and dumb but here's some for the board of directors - I truly believe that when a company has a great board of directors, good results are more likely to follow but in this case, you have let all the employees down. I just can't fathom as to how you can continue to justify rewarding and supporting these execs that have yet to produce any meaningful results and have been responsible for months of failure. Not sure, if you have any idea what this has done to the morale of the other 99.99% of the company? To leave the C-level in place that is so obviously incompetent, egoistical, ineffective and corrupt to the core has been your biggest mistake. Your only hope to salvage this company from becoming the next Violin Systems is to make changes at the top level asap. You should also begin to put the focus back on rebuilding this company (ONLY if you care about the employees and the company). I understand it might be a stretch at this point of time but at least you can say you tried and maybe everyone that is still part of this journey can move on with some dignity.

    Pros

Product is great and customers love it

    Cons

    Everything outside the product.

Executives getting rich while destroying the company which is horribly managed. No loyalty to the employees who have stayed as the value goes down daily so employees are running for the exits.

    Advice to Management

Look in the mirror you are the problem

    Pros

Work life balance is good because no customer meetings

It was once a great place to work that time passed when executives cared more about the IPO then execution, sales and employees. Now it is just sad

    Cons

    IPO
CEO should be fired and takes no responsibility for his repeated failures
    Management is bad and inexperienced
    Marketing is notoriously bad
Compensation promises, bonuses, stock are all a joke
Leadership doesn't listen to the field
HQ is disconnected and doesn't care about employees outside Mountain View
Morale is extremely low among employees

    Advice to Management

At your next job listen to your people and stop drinking the kool-aid
