I worked at Tintri full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Mostly great people and solid product. Pay is absolutely fair. Supporting customers is an area where Tintri absolutely shines

    Cons

Overpriced for a one-trick solution. Middle management micro manages at alarming levels to the point of meetings taking priority over customer sales engagements. Zero input from field teams is realistically considered for product enhancements. Price point to expand equals purchasing an entirely new array rather than adding capacity, and I understand why this is but it falls flat when trying to be price competitive. C level management is completely exempt from the famous "no jerks" policy. One of the first things I was told when I started was was the C level personnel operate with a "I'm the exception" mentality here. I've seen the CEO come out and start laying into his assistant for the most utterly trivial things.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your sales teams. If they are recommending a feature its usually due to losing deals because if that feature. Or it has come up with several customers. If there are legit enhancement requests that have been in the ques for over 5 years and they are still being requested it might be time to start delivering features the customers want, not the ones you want.

    Pros

Great product but needs feature improvements to compete

    Cons

Horrible C level management that never listens to the field feedback and only improves product based on their own opinions. Field teams ask for the same new features over and over but management feels that they are not important for the business which doesn't make sense when these features are direct requirements coming from the customers.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your sales teams out on the street. Their feedback is directly related to what the customers want and need to buy/sell more product.

I have been working at Tintri full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Convenient location
Shuttle to and from Caltrain station
    Decent base salaries
Good work life balance (read not much of work)

    Cons

Horrible and selfish management specially at c level. Company had poor IPO (extremely low valuation) and that was followed by disappointing first quarter earnings. Result was that company wide 12% layoffs in all departments, all that while CEO made millions of dollars (read public records for CEO’s stock transactions)

Because of uncertainties, new projects are getting scrapped, so employees work on maintenance of existing products. So not much to learn.

Company has decent base salaries but does not pay bonuses or other benefits like 401k match. As a result, your W2 will not have anything but your base salary. This is of course different than most companies in the valley.

    Advice to Management

    None

    Cons

Free lunches are there only on Mondays.
