    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Tioga Medical Center full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    I wish there were some.

    Cons

Nurses get different treatment than doctors. They help doctors with CEUs however will not help nurses. Doctors can use vacation. Right after probation, nurses have to wait year to year. If you are not from the town your are treated differently ... an outcast. There is a lot of related employees who tend to get extra special treatment and never any consequences. Pay if awful. As a single parent you would have to work several jobs to make it. No communication. No backbone or management support ESPECIALLY if you are not from the community. There is a lot of drama and really I haven't heard anyone have anything nice to say about anyone else in the whole facility.

    Advice to Management

Try caring about your employees and enough with the special treatment and drama. TMC is nothing special.

  3. "If you aren't related to administration or a "long timer", you will not want to stay at this facility. No advancements."

    Pros

Great paid vacation policy! Meals for a dollar. If you're shy, you don't have to worry about your coworkers talking to you or getting in your space!

    Cons

It's like high school, no kidding! If you're not "FROM HERE" or related to the boss or one of those who have worked there forever, you get treated like crap and the relatives pretty much get to do whatever they want whenever they want. It's a festering pool of nepotism and junior high clique stuff.

    Advice to Management

If you MUST make a position for your wife, son or daughter, they shouldn't have any more access to you than the person who just moved here from Idaho and doesn't know you at all. NEPOTISM.....it's a negative thing and you make yourselves look like a bunch of inbred hicks. They'll let you work every day, 17 hours a day without a thought, call you on your days off or badger you into picking up days that are open because they can't keep help. Management and friends get to go to their kid's school activities, etc but don't care that the rest of us miss every event our kid's are in because we're at work every minute of every day. Work isn't evenly divided. No team work. The people who are supposed to be leading don't encourage team work or respect between workers. Since it's a very small town, locals get treated better than non locals, and certain named locals get treated like royalty.
