I worked at Tobii DynaVox full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

You get to come in and work your ordinary schedule. There are interesting problems to solve. Location is great for lunchtime escapades.

    Cons

It was clear at different times that you're just another head at a desk.

I worked at Tobii DynaVox full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The individuals you work with on a daily basis is very rewarding.

    Cons

The technology seemed dated compared to other devices that were out there, especially for children. In sales, you wear multiple hats - selling, customer service, insurance approval, etc. The Customer service piece can be very time consuming.

    Advice to Management

Customer service is critical. Should consider having Field Service reps to assist the customer base.

I worked at Tobii DynaVox full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great products that can really serve the non-verbal population with a means of communication. You can really make a difference in someone"s life.

    Cons

Poor management at the top made poor decisions. Tripled sales force in less than 2 years and revenue plummeted. Took company public and stock went from $18 to around 10 cents in less than3 years (DVOX). Ran off most dedicated, experienced employees. Treated all with mis-trust

    Advice to Management

Go back to serving the client and respecting the good workers and the numbers witll begin to take care of themselves. You ways of high control and greed have not worked.

I worked at Tobii DynaVox full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great product that is really needed. Your customers truly appreciate your time and effort.

    Cons

The management of the company has no idea what makes DynaVox better. They act like it is the software but it used to be the level of support we provided. Now that most of the experienced reps have left there is no reason for a customer to choose DynaVox.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees better and take an honest look at your marketplace when you set commissions and quotas.

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

Place you feel good about working for and proud of what you do for customers. Focus seemed to be shifting more towards increasing profit rather than product quality, as emphasized by all veteran employees there.

    Cons

Loaded with very big egos, many of them unjustified. A little more professional management needs to pervade here, as many minor routine management tasks are overlooked or just plain skipped, such as performance reviews.

    Advice to Management

Give routine performance assessments and routine professional progress assessments. You have employees who actually want to work there; help them continue feeling that way and help them more directly / tangibly develop. Don't let your huge ego get in the way of that.
