I worked at Tokyo Joe's part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Lots of time off, breaks are 2 hours.

    Cons

Most unprofessional leadership I have ever experienced, gossip non stop, terrible pay, terrible neglectfull management. Moneygrubbing company.

    Advice to Management

Be present at your stores and build your teams. Leadership is all self taught and not well. No one is train ed and your turn over rate is so high because you promise respect for all and then treat everyone like numbers on a page.

I have been working at Tokyo Joe's part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The work environment is fast-paced and you do get a great discount for the food when you work there. You also get to meet many kinds of customers and also engage in plenty of activities to do.

    Cons

The management and supervision is terrible and often times unprofessional. I have seen way too much of supervisors telling workers about things they should improve on or not do in front of clients. That is unprofessional, rude, unnecessary, and makes the relationships with the customers awkward.

    Advice to Management

Consider your lower-status workers' wants in the work environment and do not attempt to embarrass them in front of clients by talking down upon them. Instead, find a common ground with the worker in recognizing problems in a mature and professional manner.

I worked at Tokyo Joe's part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Met some great people, and didn't get paid too poorly. My first year was great. The job isn't too complicated, but isn't usually boring.

    Cons

In my last year of employment the turnover rate was really bad. We couldn't keep anyone around and the company as a whole was restructuring.

    Advice to Management

Maybe pay managers and assistant managers more what they deserve and make raises more worthwhile. It's disheartening when your assistant manager who works 10x harder than you only makes $1.35 more an hour than you.

    Pros

Amazing company. Makes you feel like a family.

    Cons

They expect you to be there even if you can't be. Sick, death in the family, vacation you previously had requested gets denied.

    Advice to Management

    Appreciate everyone.
