I have been working at Toll Brothers full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

They will offer you pretty good pay straight out of college.

    Cons

Everything you can imagine. You basically will get less than minimum wage for all the hours you have to work. There is a lot of nepotism. You can get promoted because of all the nephews that work there.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the nepotism. Get rid of the corruption.

    Pros

    Upper Management ask your opinion.

    Cons

They ignore your opinion. They are just asking to ask. They could care less what you think. Project Managers are treated like dirt. Anyone who makes one peep is fired. There's lots of rumors that they fired whistleblowers who turned in some of the AVPs and VPs for stealing money from the company. Corporate was more interested in overall profits and the stock price than $50k.

    Advice to Management

Stop firing people for doing the right thing.

I have been working at Toll Brothers full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Competitive starting salary but not the best for the size of the company.

    Cons

From the outside looking in, the company culture seems great. Tenured professionals with a lot to give. Be very careful which division you choose and be mindful of why management has so much tenure in one area. You could be working for a tyrant.

    Advice to Management

Ensure that the company standards and values are being practiced by all employees, not just new. Train the supervisors and managers that productivity and happy working environment in paramount.

    Pros

Great place to learn that this is not a real career! Go back to the drawing board. You are temporary! They will promise the moon, but all you will end up with is a bad taste in your mouth!

    Cons

You will never move up the ladder. You will never escape the multiple layers of micro-management. You are a number. Most people last only a few years in the sales department. Again this is not a career. This job is a joke and the people laughing at you are the upper management. Good luck.

    Advice to Management

Keep on doing what you are doing. It seems like treating employees poorly has created a fearful work environment. Keep them scared and they will work harder and for less! Great job! Isn't middle management awesome?!?!

    Pros

I seriously can only think about the free coffee, soda and tea from the model homes. Nothing else.

    Cons

The pay that is promised is based on what your community is suppose to sell. Usually that number is over exaggerated so you don't get the money you are promised. Also you don't make your money in the first 6 months because you only get a small portion when you sell a house and the rest when they settle. So for the first 6 months all the houses are still being built and you don't see your money. It's very common for sales associates to complain to each other about the misleading pay. Management is also very rude to associates. A lot of office politics.
No over time. You usually work 45 hours a week and no over time at all. It's fine if your salary but the pay is misleading and it's normal to go for months not selling any houses and living off your 30k base salary. That's less than $800 biweekly.... even though they say you will make more if you sell X houses a year. No one ever reaches that goal every month.
No one respects the sales girls.
We had a region wide quarterly meeting where the CEO came to talk to us at one of their country clubs. The email said breakfast would be served but there was only coffee and bagels. People drove an hour away to hear the CEO give an update about the company to let us know that toll had made over a billion dollars profit this year. One billion dollar profit! And they couldn't even serve us eggs or a nice breakfast.
For the xmas party it's a cold cheese and cracker platter and coffee. For a company that makes a billion dollars in profit a year they can't even offer any benefits of bonus or food to their employees. Do you want to be part of a billion dollar company that will not even offer you a xmas dinner/drinks at a xmas party?

    Advice to Management

Hire more marketing people. Or change your whole marketing staff. They suck and never return an email. Also raise your base pay and salary. Treat your employees with respect. Do more to show you care for them.

I worked at Toll Brothers full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Different places, under different management probably better

    Cons

If you are into upper management working asst managers weekends and overtime without pay, direct managers drinking large amounts of alcohol on company property at the construction trailers on the very subdivisions they are building full of kids, more drama than the show Glee and the Office together and multiple bosses not communicating with one another and out to get one another, work int he Colorado division. Oh, and then when all this is reported to corporate HR, you are transferred and it is swept under the rug, work here..... oh and if you are not proud of the work you put out, but beg customers for a good survey to get your bonus and throw the rest of the company under the bus, work in Colorado. I'm sure not every site is the same, i'm sure it is run very differently from place to place, but top of Colorado division is a joke. Oh yeah, i turned in pictures of people drinking and driving at the construction trailer to HR, and fridge full of beer, and a trash can full of empty beer boxes. If you have self respect, stay out of Colorado, and don't ever buy a home from this company here.

    Advice to Management

Get a back bone, have integrity, hold people accountable, get liability insurance.
