I have been working at Toll Brothers full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The company has amazing benefits and a relaxed atmosphere in the office. They are constantly growing at a successful rate which makes it exciting to be a part of.

    Cons

You're a little fish in a big pond. Definitely show signs of large corporate greed. Are constantly losing the younger generation because of limited growth opportunities and lower than average pay.

    Advice to Management

Focus more on the younger generation to grow into the company rather than those who have been here 10+ years

I worked at Toll Brothers full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Cool place to work.
A lot of work steadily coming in and everyone stays busy.

    Cons

Some of the people have too much power and can only do so much and a lot of things crash and burn.
unorganized at times but are working to improve and are transitioning.

I have been working at Toll Brothers full-time

    Pros

Great benefits, and company. They treat you well and most people that you work with are awesome.

    Cons

Lower employees are underpaid compared to what you can make at another company doing the same job. Some managers are completely rude and will treat you like dirt, like the one I work for now.

    Advice to Management

Check in with your employees more, don't just move people around without checking in with them to see if they want to move. Management doesn't really listen to you when you say you have a problem with another employee, especially one higher up that you. They just "talk" to them about their behavior, which doesn't do anything.

    Pros

Good experience working for a well run big builder.

    Cons

Top heavy management structure and too many chefs in the kitchen.

I worked at Toll Brothers full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The people that I got to work with everyday were great and very helpful. I enjoyed engaging with the homeowners.

    Cons

They don't care where you live, the commute was awful. They didn't have a mentor program, it was hit the ground running and a sink or swim mentality.

Too many guidelines to get your walk thru bonuses and customer feedback bonus.

    Advice to Management

Work on mentoring new hires and give them the opportunity to grow.

I worked at Toll Brothers full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good pay, great health benefits, good co-workers and plenty of opportunities to advance if you can tolerate the politics. Overall, I would recommend.

    Cons

Depending on the Division that you work in, your opportunity to advance may be severely limited. If you work in a smaller or ancillary business division, you may wind up getting pigeon-holed with no real opportunities outside the division. Also, like any large, public company you are constantly bombarded by ethics and other worthless training. On top of that, there are a lot of antiquated policies and procedures that management is reluctant to change. This is due in large part to them spending most of their career only at Toll and being clueless as to what best practices are in the industry or at their competitors.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the old and dead weight that makes up the senior ranks of the company. Hopefully this will promote innovation in the lower and younger ranks of the company.

I have been working at Toll Brothers full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Vacation houses are awesome to use. Benefits include discounted stock shares and health/life insurance. The amount of vacation days go up after you've been there for five years.

    Cons

Trying to take a vacation or just simply a day off during "peak" periods is difficult. No work/home balance. Expect to work every weekend and only take vacations in the summer. Pay is not good. Other new home builders have better pay rates and bonuses. There is a big disconnect between upper management and sales people. The company seems to have no clue what is going on in the market and what trends are hot. They are very slow to make change and very cheap.

    Pros

Good people, excellent training, good benefits, excellent brand

    Cons

No work life balance, due to no weekends off other than summer program.. Other home builders have better programs to compensate for working many weekends a year. Pay is okay but not a lot of room for increase.

    Advice to Management

One weekend off a month like other home builders. Would really make the job more enjoyable to have some sort of work life balance.
