    I worked at Toluna full-time

    Pros

Nice people to work with, work from home occasionally, no micromanagement. Compensation started decent but growth is difficult.

    Cons

Revolving door of employees, frequent cubicle moves, work overload for people. If it happens to you, speak up - it could help. Growth is lateral.

    Advice to Management

The revolving door brought the office morale down. Let employees know they are valuable.

    Pros

Absolutely great health care and 401k benefits.
People you work with are great.
Laid back, but still get work done culture.

    Cons

    Salaries are not competitive.
Focused on company growth while completely neglecting staff moral.

    Advice to Management

Understand that growing the business and appreciating your staff doesn't have to be mutually exclusive

I worked at Toluna full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The work itself was interesting and enjoyable, and the leadership team was willing to consider using new(er) technologies.

    Cons

Given the size of the work group, the amount of bureaucracy inherent in even the smallest of organizational or process-related changes was astounding. There were very strict vertical lines of communication within teams, with communication between teams typically handled at the management level.

    I worked at Toluna full-time

    Pros

There are some good people there and they've invested a lot in technology.

    Cons

They don't seem to appreciate their employees. There is a lot of turnover and now I see why. They don't do annual reviews or cost of living increases so you need to negotiate your salary well when you first get hired because it won't change unless you get a promotion. They tend to micro manage and have unrealistic expectations about what you should be able to make happen with the resources they give you.

    Advice to Management

Bring on a company to do an employee satisfaction survey and implement improvements if you want to reduce turnover. Also overhaul the commission plan to make it more motivating for the sales team.

  8. "Unethical company"

    I worked at Toluna full-time

    Pros

I loved the nature of my work and loved my clients

    Cons

Corners were cut, sometimes rendering useless the data for which clients paid good money. Also, company defined saturation levels (workload) were often doubled or tripled, resulting in working every evening and weekend, then impacting client satisfaction. Management cared zero.

    Advice to Management

watch out for dishonest mid-level managers.

I worked at Toluna full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

A few pockets of decent and talented people.

    Cons

Culture is not something the company cares about.

    Advice to Management

Put your employees first, then shareholders.

I worked at Toluna full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Competitive pay and some very loyal employees. Genuine efforts by some management team to create positive work environment.

    Cons

Management needed to do better self-assessment and realize that many people felt like they were stuck in a rut. Revenue growth was stagnant, and the solution was often to let go of low level employees, but the highest level of management seemingly was immune from repercussions.

    Advice to Management

Be willing to really assess the strengths of the different pieces of the organization. Be wiling to concede that somebody else's way of doing things may actually be good for the business.
