    The job is relatively easy and there is a great employee discount. It's a retail job, which is what you get.

    Cons

    Management is very strict, which was becoming stifling. The work hours are rough and there weren't always enough people to work

    The discount was very generous; some gems amongst the employees and showing us the ropes

    Cons

    The lack of understanding for part-timers who went to school; inflexibility amongst hours (having family members work with you on black friday); drama within the managers

    • Keeps associates past their availability
    • Lack of communication amongst managers
    • Low pay (terrible) for the amount of work that is required
    • Unprofessionally ran
    • No room for growth

    Advice to Management

    Please treat your employees like human beings. The management team at this location lacks professionalism as most of them are very young. Also, better communication skills amongst management could help the store a lot.

    Pros

    Salary and benefits generous. Casual work environment. Gym in building with flexibility to go during lunch hour (on my team in particular).

    Cons

    Large company with long iconic heritage makes it tough to keep up with current market trends. Lack of transparency with upper management.

    Advice to Management

    Don't rely so heavily on Macy's business. Listen to your customer.
