I worked at Tory Burch full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Decent benefits, summer Fridays, employee discount and sample sales. Nice office location and office space looks great.

    - Friendly people

    Cons

(Disclaimer: These are opinions from someone who has never worked as a Designer in the Fashion industry)

    - Bureaucracy and job titles dictates the influence you have. The higher ups make all the decisions, and communication trickles down the pipe.

    - Not a lot of career growth and new learning opportunity for me personally. I don't think I've become a better designer. Responsibilities are only limited to the job description, and there are few opportunities for innovation and creativity.

    - Messy organization, lots of changes with no logical reasoning.

    - High turnover rate

    - Terrible pay for entry-level jobs.

    - Lack of diversity.

I have been working at Tory Burch part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

3% commission structure. Free uniforms for work, so you don't have to spend money on clothes or trying to figure out what to wear. Getting free weekly lunches during holiday season. Can meet interesting customers and if you try you can make some further connection with them. 40% employee discount and every 6 weeks it goes up to 60% for a weekend.

    Cons

Not giving the opportunity to work full time, even though they have the positions. Pretty intense competition between the employees and managers present not to see the "sharks" in the team. POS system is probably 20 years old and crushes all the time. Not enough devices to ring up customers during busy holiday season. Managers put pressure on you to create a clientele, and constantly want you to make cold calls to random customers, even if they shopped only once in the store. Regional managers do not care about employees, they just want to see you producing numbers for them. All they do when they visit the store is go for long lunches with GM.

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to what is happening in the store, between employees. Spend more time in the store, not just the back office. Take actions if one employee feels like is being bullied by others, including managers.

    Pros

Established brand, being a part of Tory and her success, employee discount

    Cons

Favoritism: tenured employee are not always a plus, not open to change. Tenured employees get special treatment.
    Commission culture: cattiness, gossiping, cliques
High turn over: can't keep leadership teams staffed, burnt out leadership team in result
    Micromanaging: belittled

    Advice to Management

Doesn't matter won't change until the tenured move on.

    Pros

Discount and hours. Product sells itself.

    Cons

Catty and gossipy employees. Company culture exists but not seen in the workplace. I worked many stores and saw the same thing, just very mean girl behavior.

    Advice to Management
