    Pros

Friendly and professional people but definitely the greatest pro working there was salary and benefits.

    Cons

Business is dying so the business atmosphere was not the most motivating given the continued round of lay-offs and impending decision on what Toshiba Corp. decision will be related to the PC business.

    Advice to Management

Continue to be as open as possible with employees.

    Pros

Plenty of overtime which you will need as they pay far below the going wage. The only other pro I can think of is a couple of really nice employees I met.

    Cons

Unprofessional, no systems, poor leadership, dirty hot work environment. This place is run like a mom and pop shop, this is why they continue to lose customers.

    Advice to Management

Hire qualified employees, and pay a competitive wage

    Pros

Toshiba has deep & strong engineering and manufacturing capabilities. Their technological prowess provides a wide enough scope to create everything from customer semiconductor components to consumer products built around those technologies. Executive and line management at TAiS expresses a convincing appreciation for staff at all levels and all roles, and the work environment is generally quite comfortable and friendly.

    Cons

As a subsidiary of Japan's Toshiba Corp., Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc. doesn't have full control of what products & services to develop & market in the US. The company seems to often "play defense", in a sense, by focusing on continuation of past successes with limited tolerance for the risks inherent in ongoing innovation and new product lines. This combination may be a factor that sometimes results in responding slowly to technologies and market forces, and missing opportunities to pivot into emerging, profitable areas that may otherwise be a natural fit, thus losing out on first-mover profits.

    Advice to Management

Encourage and reward more risk-taking within the operating divisions when it comes to development of new technologies, products, services, and business opportunities. Allocate some percentage of resources to evaluation and development of ideas that have potential to result in new, profitable lines of business. Fund new lines of business sufficiently to develop and maintain effective operations while finding/developing the market to sell into.
