I have been working at Toshiba America Medical Systems full-time

    Pros

The pay is pretty decent, and you will meet some of the most genuine and hardworking people on the planet.

    Cons

Management is always changing. Every 2-3 years there is a new set of VPs. The culture is very reactive, and decisions based on escalations supplant any attempt at strategy. Senior Management favors results over decent behavior, regardless of how demoralizing such bad behavior is on everyone else. Bad apples persist because they perform. The good apples get frustrated and leave.

    Advice to Management

Be strategic. Organize. Pay attention to why so many people have been leaving. These are not just "people that don't fit" some of them are quite talented people that have grown tired and have given up.

    Pros

Exciting having site responsibility and having the freedom to manage many different challenges that will come up. You have to stay abreast of the changes that come along the way even when there are no acknowledgements for your efforts.

    Cons

Forced major changes in the way software is used to simplify how we do business. No recognition of loyalty. No ability to recognize where someone wants to be. A service person needs that carrot in front to go for in keeping focused.

    Advice to Management

Be concerned for the over eager, micromanaging types. There whole purpose has no following. Any blade of grass untreated with fertilizer will display his/her lack of leadership.

I have been working at Toshiba America Medical Systems full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Flexibility and you kind of control your own schedule. You don't have dispatch breathing down your neck. We do our own installs which I think is nice.

    Cons

Somewhat mismanaged. Things get lost in he shuffle because it seems hat headquarters has no clear direction. Seems to always be in coast or crisis mode.

    Advice to Management

    Stop hiring so many managers.
