I worked at Toshiba TEC full-time

    Pros

Well structured, lot's of things to learn for a fresh grad, not so for an experienced worker, unless you can stand being stagnant.

    Cons

As with most Japanese companies, promotion & increment is based on how long you stay with the company and less of how well you perform. Most of the time, SOP is more of an adhering to rules and regulations than actually benefiting the company.

    Advice to Management

Look out of the box. Staying in the box will not help you progress.

I worked at Toshiba TEC full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There is no pros of working in this company besides than the fact that you'all learn how to extinguish fire every single day.

    Cons

    1. No work life balance
    2. Rude PM
    3. Rude sourcing dept
    4. Unsupportive team leaders

    Advice to Management

Try to see from the Engineers point of view. They are working hard and instead of pushing them, listen to their grievances and help. They are working hard for themselves and for you too.

Either way, maybe it's the culture there and that is incurable itself.

To those suffering, if you can survive here you can survive anywhere else. That's the only plus point.

All the colleagues (not managers) around me had cried before due to the job.
Extremely high pressure, most new employees will leave within a year.
That's why you see that they are always hiring

I have been working at Toshiba TEC full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Flex time. OT pay.
Good learning experience maybe for fresh grads-- if you survive here, you can survive anywhere.

    Cons

Actually depends on which department, but if you're under Engineering....
    Daily firefighting.
No work life balance at all. Other bosses don't care and demand work till so late.
    No teamwork between BU's.
    Sourcing leaders are very rude.
MOST bosses don't care about people under them. Only care about schedules, getting positive feedback from higher management and customer and getting promoted-- no matter what the cost.
    Blame game everywhere.
Dont teach you well, then when you got mistake, blame you for it.
People push you to push other people for them.
In the end you're the one who will look bad.
Because they got used to this system nobody care to change.

    Advice to Management

People under you are not robots nor slaves. Without them you cant have any output. If you guide them properly and be sensitive enough to know that if you're pushing too much work to them you give them enough time to complete, then maybe people will be happy to work for you and do tasks with more eagerness.
