I worked at Toshiba of Canada full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Pay and package are acceptable
    Friendly colleagues

    Cons

Old school management: Trying to use 20 year old methods.
Work from home in our department is not acceptable because of fear of old-style upper management (although we sold solutions allowing our customers to do it)
    No innovation, no leading
    No career development

I worked at Toshiba of Canada full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

When times were good, management was good and morale was high.

    Cons

Mismanagement of various businesses and slowly becoming reactionary rather than proactive with regards to product development has left Toshiba a shell of the powerhouse they once were.

    Advice to Management

Invest in R&D, in people and work to become a market leader once again.

I worked at Toshiba of Canada full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Best thing about this company is the family like feeling in some departments, clean workplace. Great place to learn about office work.

    Cons

Very ordinary products and very expensive. Not enough promoting of the products. Company is slowly firing everyone so all the tasks are now done by a smaller crew, cant imagine the stress on their shoulders.

    Advice to Management

Supervisors doesnt seem to be doing a lot but they are nice...Try to make this company the best instead of just being happy with your salary and doing the minimum work.

I worked at Toshiba of Canada full-time

    Pros

Decent pay but not worth it. Flexible work hours.

    Cons

Toxic work environment - very sterile and cold. No sense of culture and management is constantly breathing down necks for results. No possibility of growth since products are a commodity and in decline - it's a sinking ship. No resources or tools provided to sales reps.

I witnessed the President yell at a rep for everyone on the floor to hear. Intentionally embarrassing him in order to "motivate them" and pick up their feet. It was appalling, this isn't the 80's anymore; that type of verbal abuse should be reported.

    Advice to Management

If you want the company to survive you have to change management. They are old-school and need to retire. That type of management style doesn't work for millennials entering the work-force. You'll constantly see turnover unless something changes soon. Good Luck...
