    Cons

Senior management is blind to what being a leader is about. Certain people in the C-level are bullies and do not support an environment of growth or development.

    Advice to Management

Do a more thorough review of your executive team. If you want to keep your employees and reduce turnover it needs to start from the top down.

I worked at Total Merchant Services (More than a year)

    Pros

Good people in the rank and file.

    Cons

The good people in the rank and file don't get any support, direction, or recognition for their efforts.

    Advice to Management

Recognize that it's time to bring in a fresh team with new ideas. The Intuit model doesn't make it right for TMS. Think outside the box.

there are some communication problems within departments, but i think because we are growing so fast and trying to get ahead of the game i think it is bound to happen.

I have been working at Total Merchant Services (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I really feel like TMS is a family. We all chip in to get the job done. I've worked at similar companies where you are restricted by your job description or level within the company. At TMS it feels like great ideas are respected regardless of who you are or what department you're in. We meet with senior leadership monthly and they let us know what direction the company is going. I think people work much better if they know what the common goal is.

This is a place where you are free to make your career path. This has been great for people who are new to the industry and don't quite know where their heart lies. People will help you get to where you want to go as long as you put in the work.

Really fun atmosphere. We are constantly doing charitable events and finding new ways to give to the community. Great ticket give-aways for local sporting events. Holiday parties are the best I've ever seen. Completely top notch.

    Cons

I can't really think of any. I feel appreciated and am happy to work here.

    Advice to Management

Keep getting feedback from all levels of the company. The people who talk to customers know customers really well.

    Pros

Great people and culture for the most part

    Cons

Nothing is organized, no clear direction, no feedback give in areas you need to improve in, Emotional business decision from the Sr. Managers based on changes to the business.

    Advice to Management

When a leader of 13 years leaves and rather than talk to the supervisor level set and together develop a plan, don't push out someone who has focused and excelled on a certain area of focus as dictated by my manager of 9 plus month of my 10 months of employment and just let me go for a false reason

    Pros

Nice office and location. Nice co workers.

    Cons

No opportunity to grow. Poor management decisions in regards to retaining employees and outside agents. Favoritism in terms of promotion. I was harassed economically. High turnover leading to longtime workers being over burdened and under paid.

    Advice to Management

Retain your employees before you lose all the intangible knowledge that this industry needs to stay ahead. Stop promoting based on favoritism. Stop moving mangers to new departments that they have no experience in running. Prove that the company actually has a future
