TQL (The. Quintessential. Luxury) Work Place

      Pros

In the time that I have been employed with TQL, I have grown to really adore this company as a whole. Not only is the atmosphere and comradery very uplifting but the job itself is rewarding. Just like any job, it can be tough at times, but you genuinely enjoy waking up every day ready to help out your customers, as well as be respective & kind to careers transporting the loads. TQL does look after it's employees and also teaches it's employees to always put customers first. I would (& have) recommended the job to many people and will continue to do so.

      Cons

Tough but worth reward & effort. So long as you continue to push forward & show your effort, you will be reward.

      TQL, Mobile

Apr 22, 2021 - Sales Team Leader/Logistics Account Executive in Mobile, AL

      Pros

The work environment is fast paced and exciting. The co-workers at TQL Mobile are truly a tight knit family. For people that consider work ethic to be a strong personal trait, this job will reward you (uncapped commission). The 6 month training model (which is paid) is the most informative and in depth training I've ever received. Leadership positions are hired 100% in house, and the current leaders do everything they can to develop their employees for future management/leadership roles. Joining the TQL team is essentially signing up for a career, rather than a temporary job. To add to this, the benefits offered are incredible (401k match, insurance, in house financial advisors, etc.). If your considering interviewing for a position at TQL, understand that there's no prior logistics/sales experience required. Joining this team has been one of the best decisions of my life. Super excited about the continuous growth our company has seen, specifically the TQL Mobile branch. Come join us!

      Cons

There are no cons. If your willing to work hard and put in the hours, our leaders will put you in a position to succeed.

One of My Favorite Jobs...with a Catch

      Apr 22, 2021 - Logistics Account Executive

      Business Outlook

      Pros

TQL was truthfully one of my favorite jobs I've had. The people were great, the environment was encouraging, and really felt more inclusive/supportive than any other workplace I've experienced. -Opportunity to build sales skills and a book of business for young professionals -Development of negotiation tactics, cold calling, and generalized dealing with people -Overall I found TQL to be a great experience, though I was there for a limited time

      Cons

Though the people and culture were great, the job is a GRIND. You will make cold calls, you will get sworn at by truckers, and you absolutely will feel the pressure of quotas. TQL I've noticed is a very love it or hate it workplace environment. Like all jobs in sales, you may put in the work and still fail... -Very high call volume and pressure to close -Limited available prospects -Cutthroat environment, you will likely have to compete for accounts with other reps -Commission can be challenging to reach -Entry level salary with long hours expected -Like all sales jobs, TQL is all performance based. If you aren't closing accounts and booking loads, you will be let go. -Upward mobility is limited to positions open within the office

TQL Sales Executive - Honest Review

Apr 1, 2021 - Sales Executive in Charleston, SC

      Business Outlook

      Pros

TQL is my first real career. I'm extremely thankful they took a chance on me. I've been very lucky to have very strong managers above me to help with my development as a employee and a leader. The company is customer service driven, making sure that in a difficult industry we handle ourselves with integrity & the highest of morals. The position is demanding but can be life changing for those who are working hard, don't give up, and understand success stems from continuous effort. Based on how hard you work you will see the fruit of your labor in commission that is uncapped, but again takes hard work to achieve. A strong work ethic is a must for this position. TQL's systems are top of the line that are internally build and supported with an inhouse IT team. You have access to many programs & technologies that allow for smooth work environment. The company promotes a very tight knit community with social events (prior to Covid), volunteer opportunities, friendly competitions, etc... many people that work/worked at TQL are some of my best friends now.

      Cons

It is a very difficult industry, with a lot of competition. If you don't want to work hard this position isn't for you. There will be days that are tougher than others mentally, only the mentally tough and strong hearted push through. There are the occasional issues with slowness causing some delays with productiveness.

A wonderful entry level position that can lead to more!

      Pros

There was never a boring day at TQL-Grand Rapids office. I loved my time there. The atmosphere, the people, and parts of the job was amazing. The GM was great at being a leader and not a boss, and most of the STLs and SGLs were very helpful.

      Cons

Some leadership wasn’t very good at doing the leadership part. The hours are long as well. If you have strong work ethic- this job is for you! You get what you give essentially.

      TQL Review

Apr 27, 2021 - Logistics Account Executive in Charleston, SC

      Pros

Earning Potential - There is uncapped commission, meaning if you want a raise, its on you to close new business. The company doesn't restrict how much money you make. By no means is it unheard of to make 6 figures within the first 2 years of employment. Atmosphere - Very much a team environment. If you are struggling on closing business, several leaders in the office will help give advice and coach. Peers are also more than willing to help as well in the office. Destressors - There is a ping pong table, corn hole boards, NBA Jams, Foosball table, Happy Hours, Gong that you hit when you set up a customer, etc.

      Cons

It's Sales - It's tough. You need to put in long hours, strong effort, great attitude in the beginning. That's true for any sales job. Sales isn't for everyone which creates a high turnover. As long as you have a strong work ethic, a good attitude and have realistic expectations in terms of how long to build your book of business, you will be fine.

      Easy Job With Unconventional Strategies

May 7, 2021 - Logistics Account Executive Trainee in Birmingham, AL

      Pros

Fun/Young coworkers. Cornhole/PingPong/Darts/TV's in open concept office. Weekly challenges against coworkers and fun breaks with little events and games going on. Will hire just about anyone with a HS degree

      Cons

Little to no PTO. You have to work every other Saturday for a half day while you are still an LAET. VERY STRICT on time to work policy. Traffic doesnt matter. Dead dog doesnt matter. You must be on time. Dress code is way too strict for the environment there. It is fun and laid back, yet you are supposed to wear pants and collard shirts just "in case" a customer comes to the office. (That never happened) Management chooses favorites and if you aren't a favorite, you're on the hotseat every day.

Tough but pays off in the end

May 5, 2021 - Group Sales Manager in Charleston, SC
      Recommend

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Uncapped commission: If you want to make more money, all you need to do is land more business, TQL will help provide support staff as you grow and encourages growth! Fast paced, team environment, everyone is here to push themselves to be better each and every day. Management does everything they can to put you in the right position to be successful, but it is a partnership, you have to do your part.

      Cons

Rejection happens daily. Work life balance is not there for the first year or so as you grind to build a book of business. Super competitive industry that requires you to stand out and be different and creative. If you are uncomfortable with meeting new people and putting yourself out there this isn't the right role for you.

      Marathon and a Sprint

Mar 3, 2021 - Anonymous Employee in Kansas City, MO

      Business Outlook

      Pros

100K is normal for the people who make it. Most I saw someone make in this office was over $350K. Very fast paced if you like that kind of environment. Management invests a lot into the juniors, from individual/group coaching sessions to staying late with you to help close a customer. Promotions and perks come pretty quick for high performers. Great people and culture - everyone welcomes you in kind of instantly.

      Cons

Very hard if you're a shy/quiet/tentative personality since the job is basically people and working to earn their trust in a pretty aggressive industry. Definitely not a 9-5 It's not a place to "get rich quick" and is pretty similar to building a business from the ground up (albeit with some well established tools and resources). Success doesn't fall in anyone's lap here and it'll take 2 years of really hard work before it starts paying off. The return can be big but the grind is real. TQL is often more expensive than the competition and while the service is better, it can be tough to convince price-sensitive companies that it's worth paying more to eliminate their headaches. Like most sales companies, there's turnover and it can stink to see someone you like leave because they weren't able to put up the revenue.

      Pros

Truly be in control of your income with uncapped commission and guaranteed base salary. Vacation time, 401k match, benefits, etc with fun company outings and beer drops. Almost 100% promote from within, good leadership program, and supportive/understanding management

      Cons

On call 24/7 for customers/issues with your book of business. Does take a lot of resilience and hard work to make it.
