I have been working at Total Safety full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It's fairly easy and coworkers are generally amiable.

    Cons

Cons are communication, and follow through.

    Advice to Management

Make checklist to help organize tasks and Mark them off as they are tackled. Don't be afraid to say I don't know.

The lack of follow through, and small pay make this job a great stepping stone. Great for beginning experience. Not really pay that you can retire on.

I have been working at Total Safety full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The people I work with are fantastic and take their jobs seriously.

    Cons

High level management (CEO, SVP’s, & VP’s) states they award merit raises but they don’t provide a process to achieve said raise. They imply that a merit raise could be achieved via the yearly evaluations. However, the district/regional managers consistently state they will only go as high as a 3 on a 1-5 scale for each point on the evaluation. 3 being “meets expectations”. Thus, if you are a good, great, or exceptional employee it doesn’t matter... the highest you will get is a 3 on all points of the evaluation. The very same middle managers will also tell you they don’t have any control over raises but they are the ones telling high level management that all of their employees are only “meeting expectations”.

    Advice to Management

Ask yourselves this... if I was an hourly worker for this company and hadn’t been given at least a cost of living increase in the last 5, 10, or more years could I still afford to live the way I did when I started. You know what needs to be done... now do it and show your longtime faithful employees they matter and that you really do appreciate them. For without them, the company would not be as successful.

I worked at Total Safety full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I enjoyed the small team that I worked with for the short time that they were all there.

    Cons

    Where to start?
     - No internal structure to speak of. People revolve in this company more than any other and you never know from one week to the next who will be there.
     - Management could care less. They state that they "want" to make it better but take no action to do so.
     - Besides my direct team, everyone will stab you in the back and throw you under the bus just to save themselves, even if you didn't do anything wrong. It's literally a dog-eat-dog culture.
     - Broken promises are rampant. Promised raises, promotions, etc are a regular occurrence with no follow through. Don't trust them at all.

    Advice to Management

Get it together and deliver on your promises or you will continue to nose-dive.
