I have been working at Total Sports Publications full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Before I came to TSP, I was NOT a sports fan at all! The guys here made me feel REALLY comfortable by helping me learn sports basics. With their mentorship and Chucks guidance I have since become a more confident sports sales professional.

    Cons

The only con that I would have to say would be coming in at 8am on Fridays, but we are off at 5!

    Advice to Management

Hire more women! They will love it here! And your mentorship is Priceless!

I worked at Total Sports Publications full-time for less than a year

    Pros

2 weeks paid vacation around Christmas-time.

    Cons

High-pressure sales floor that sells ads for various publications and leaves you no room for advancement. Pay is draw versus commission. NO SALARY. Weak company culture. All sales reps are "Key Account Directors" or something of the sort.

    Advice to Management

Hire higher-quality sales people instead of operating a revolving door.

I worked at Total Sports Publications full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Cool people, decent salary, small office.

    Cons

If you don’t do things EXACTLY as boss man would like, you get fired. Only he can be right about everything. He goes off on these political rants and definitely doesn’t want to hear any feedback from you, unless you agree. He will cuss you out everyday in front of the entire office. He definitely gets off on intimidation. All the females in the office eat lunch together, including HR, seems like a conflict of interest....

I worked at Total Sports Publications full-time for less than a year

    Pros

None at all. There is nothing good about this company.

    Cons

Absolutely terrible terrible job. Boss is horrible. Gives you leads that have been called countless times before. Absolutely dead company. Boss will act like he wants you to succeed then will fire you the next day. There is absolutely no job security. The “senior” guys are just as bad. Could care less wether or not you succeed or fail. There is no “friendly competition” at all. Do not waste your time with this company...

    Pros

-Great co-workers -Good 2 week training program

    Cons

    - Not an entry level position -People are fired or quit left and right and there is a reason for that -Revolving door because the boss will say one thing and then change his mind -He will humiliate you in front of everyone and put you down thinking it will help you -You will be told mutiple lies when hired and he will go back on his word -It is all about numbers and if you do not hit them then you are gone in a matter...

I have been working at Total Sports Publications part-time

      Pros

TSP is a great environment to work in for people that are interested in sales and sports. The senior sales managers are very helpful and are willing to answer any questions that I may have. Charles does a great job surrounding yourself with the senior sales managers so it sets you up to succeed. I believe this is a great company to work for if you want to develop or enhance your sales skill set. Charles does everything...

I worked at Total Sports Publications full-time for less than a year

      Pros

Chuck is mostly a nice guy, with a lot of sales experience and possesses a helpful training manual. You are selling sports here. Potentially lucrative commissions. Decent office in a good location.

      Cons

You will face a LOT of rejection. Usually takes several months before your first sale. Not an easy sell...especially with such a quiet office. 2/3 of the desks are empty...there's a reason. Senior sales guys frequently talking about people they think will quit, which makes for a negative atmosphere. Shady+Deceptive practices. Manager tells you to do one thing, then contradicts himself.

      Advice to Management

Teach your salespeople in a manner that doesn't belittle them and destroy their confidence on the phone.

      Pros

Working at Total Sports Publications has been a great experience. Being both a part time employee and a full time student hasn't been the easiest task, but working with this company has made it all worth it. I handle the marketing and recruiting for TSP and have learned so much about the various positions by working here. I have been working at Total Sports Publications full-time

      Pros

I love my position and the system that my boss Charles has set up. I was hired in October to an entry level position gathering leads and setting up chains of command. I have worked my way into the sales role and getting the chance to learn how to build chains of command and gather leads before jumping right into sales gave me the chance to gain a solid foundation and understanding of the business.
