I have been working at Touchstone Energy full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Everyday is a new challenge. Employees really go above and beyond when major problems arise. The job is one you look forward to going to in the morning.

    Cons

Properly defining your responsibility and receiving full ownership of work requirement. Being responsible but not having direct employees to support you. Employees are supervised by everyone except your position.

    Advice to Management

Accountability just because an employee is seasoned doesn’t mean that can’t be improved. We are always growing in our careers.

    Positive Outlook

    Pros

East River cares about its employees. The cooperative is willing to invest in training and development to help employees succeed. It's a place where you can make a difference because you're helping power people's lives. They offer a compensation package that is well above average and their retirement plan is outstanding.

    Cons

It's a larger organization that has employees spread out across the eastern side of the state so it can be difficult to get to know a lot of your coworkers.

    Pros

As a cooperative, we have great benefits, and a considerate management team. There is a lot of emphasis on a good work/life balance, and a real drive to invest in the communities we serve.

    Cons

Like most cooperatives, there are limited opportunities for advancement. We are a relatively small operation, and most operational areas have only a handful of people - so usually someone has to die for someone to get promoted.

    Pros

This company takes care of their employees and believes in growth of the company and the individual. I support anyone that wants to work there.

    Cons

Suffers the same limits as any small or growing company. There are many struggles and compensation is not as high as large companies.

    Advice to Management

The management occasionally struggles to put together a long term plan. They have ideals and goals but aren't able to put it all together.

    Pros

Great benefits, good and safe work environment, small but progressive company, very flat management structure, immune to labor market fluctuations, great benefits package

    Advice to Management

Be more open to technology, fewer meetings, provide better office facilities, faster decision making process, less micro management, easy integration
