    smaller company, good benefits, commitment to the community with volunteerism, strong conversion rate for interns, nice location, well know in the industry

    Cons

    business bought by another company, did not perform well in the end, lack of transparency from the top down, lack of communication from the top down

    financially unstable. seeking growth by taking over companies w/out making sure they can handle what is on their plate. Compensation increases/bonus is nonexistant

    I have been working at Tower Group (New York) full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

    Good benefits, 401K. Working with some really nice people

    Cons

    Don't know where to begin. Very cold and stressful environment. Supervisors being micro-managed to DEATH and the rest of the employees having to feel the pressure. No profit sharing, no senior management visits, negative feedback. No rewarding for jobs well done. No tuition reimbursement to further careers. The AM Best Rating from A- to B- prevented many agents from writing with our company.
