I have been working at Tower International full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Tower has been growing and lots of new jobs at Corporate and the plants. The plant opening in South Carolina had really helped career growth. New CEO but he has been with the company since 2007. Good time to be here and great bonus this year!

    Cons

I have not had any negative experiences.

    Pros

Co workers are great, jobs pays decent and overtime is usually available for extra money. Time and a half on fridays and Saturday's. Double time on sundays. Company observes several holidays.

    Cons

Insurance is good, but costly. Management could be much better. Pay could be better for job and requirements. Point system for attendance is terrible

    Pros

Open and honest communication in a team atmosphere! Tower has continually improved and increased the long term outlook of their business.

    Cons

The only con is that when someone gets a job here they don't leave so when there is an opening you should take steps to get your foot in the door! It;s a great place to work!

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the great work!

I have been working at Tower International full-time

    Pros

Pay and benefits are good. Plenty of Overtime if you want it! That's about it, can't fill twenty words. Twenty.

    Cons

In particular the Clinton township unit. The Union is a joke, going on 8 months of contract extensions. No communication what so ever. The only reason you know you are even in a union is because when people get fired for sleeping, crashing hi-los, making death threats, FMLA fraud, well they get there get reinstated with back pay...the management across the board, with very FEW exceptions are incompetent. Make poor co$tly decisions with no input from any hourly peasants. Our assembly and die maintenance departments are basically a triage, patch it up when it breaks with no replacement parts in stock. Them we fix it again a month later when we get the part. Pig putty...

    Advice to Management

How about advice to the new CEO, clean house at Clinton Township. Start at the top and simply work your way down...all the way down.

    Pros

Only game in town. NAFTA killed auto suppliers in the entire region.

    Cons

Extremely poor safety record, this is a dangerous and filthy place to work. Plant management never leaves the front office, inability to improve process improvements, poor quality parts overall, plant manager is a dinosaur clinging to the old days of buddy influence, a free lunch and all you can drink to bail them out of poor quality, bad parts and neglectful customer service. Team building is every man for himself and the politics are thicker then usual. Union is lame. Employee moral is in the ditch. A sad desperate place to work with little to no opportunity to advance.
