    Pros

Managment is open to new ideas. They gave me opportunities to move up and take on more responsibility. Very good pay and excellent benefits

    Cons

They've grown a lot and done several acquisitions in the past couple years. This has resulted in some operational changes and stress for some employees.

    Advice to Management

Keep rewarding your high performing employees. Stay open to new ideas.

    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

Slightly above-average employee benefits. Decent products.

    Cons

Too many acquisitions. Constant chaos. Outdated computer systems and capacity results in more work for everyone. Also, no remote access for sales employees. (You will not acquire younger talent until this changes.) Duplication of sales tracking efforts to Town Bank and to Wintrust. Arrogance and ego in senior management. Long-term employees are favored for advancement opportunities over more qualified new/acquired people. Bank wants customers to fit into their box instead of adapting to the communities they buy branches in. Big Bank trying to look like a community bank. Too much more to list here. Would not recommend as a bank or as an employer.

    Advice to Management

Get past your egos and do whats best for the company. Utilized the people you acquire. Some of you are trying to manage things you have no experience with and don't understand, when you have people that could do it much better. There is too much effort trying to keep people in their place, when you should be utilizing them to their full potential. However, utilize them but acknowledge them as well. Also, if people have ideas and suggestions, listen to them. You are quick to accuse people of being negative when they actually have great experience and are trying to help. Oh, and marketing department is absolutely AWFUL!

    Pros

Decent company. Not very sales driven. Hard work though, responsible for all operations of the position. Would reccomend wintrust as an employer.

    Cons

Constant acquisitions. The bank is still
Figuring out how it's going to run as a company and operations are ever changing.

I worked at Town Bank full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Retail employees were extremely dedicated to providing a high level of customer service, good products to offer customer

    Cons

Many managers are unqualified, promotions are given more to those who follow the company credo the most rather than the most qualified, upper management refuses to acknowledge any problems

    Advice to Management

When you have problems at specific locations, investigate the problems and listen to your employees and address it rather than constantly moving employees around like chairs on the deck of the Titanic.

    Pros

There are a number of strong individual leaders within the banks senior management. The locations within the Wisconsin area are all newer and enjoyable to work at.

    Cons

After being purchased by Wintrust in Illinois, there is no longer the small town charm that brought me to the bank.

    Advice to Management

I really don't have anything bad to say about the management of Town Bank. The growth strategy is solid and has good potential.
