I worked at Town of Brookline part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Decent pay, free use of (very good) facilities, easy to get additional hours, work with some interesting people, consistent hours for seasons but they can easily be changed from one to the next

    Cons

When it comes to people's lives, you want to know that you can trust the people that you work with...I often couldn't. Limit of working 18.5 hours/week except in the summer where the limit is 38.5 hours/week

    Advice to Management

Don't hire just anybody with certifications. Give them a trial period to see if they can actually preform the job well

  3. "good part-time temporary work"

    Pros

I have only worked there one day so far. The location is good and my colleagues were congenial. The manager had great organizational ability and really knew her stuff.

    Cons

I worked a 12-hour day which began at 6 am. The job is temporary and pays $10/hour.

    Advice to Management

Just that the training materials could be more detailed, as in Boston.

    Pros

The Patrons and co-workers were awesome

    Cons

The Town has to learn what the patrons actually need and not to automate everything

    Advice to Management

Please take a moment and realize your staff is an important cog in the machine.
