    Pros

Well paid, strong increase in pay every year, boss recognizes hard work, there is great flexibility in taking time off as needed, many hours availible to work.

    Cons

Ther is little room for advancement. There is only one position higher than lifeguard and that is head guard. The advancement is strictly based on seniority and completion of wsi, not on ability.

    Advice to Management

Begin to add other areas of advancement, maybe senior guard etc. While ther are pay increases every year, an increased title will atract better talent.

    Pros

fun to drive the zamboni when the rink was empty

    Cons

stressful driving zamboni with people watching
    always cold
    body aches from cold
cleaning hockey dressing rooms was the most disgusting job i've ever had in my life (hockey players are pigs)
working in public sector sucked - got reported to town office when having zamboni mechanical trouble and was blamed for taking too long to clean ice even though it was eventually done properly and no one lost ice time.
mopping entire lobby, dressing rooms, bleachers (in the cold)
very hard work with not enough pay
    crappy shifts
    always working by oneself

    Advice to Management

    better shifts
    more money
    2 people on every shift
