I have been working at Towson University full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Students are positive and department provides academically well-organized setting for faculties and students. It is located in mid-scale city near Washington D.C.

    Cons

Salary and benefit for lecturer position is too low and no possibility to be promoted to senior lecturer. Advising load is huge due to increasing number of students.

    Advice to Management

More benefits or increase of the salary for the current lecturers are expected to motivate them to feel professional in teaching and advising students as a part of the university.

I have been working at Towson University full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Lots of autonomy, control over what I teach and the research projects that I undertake. Good collegiality, students who value good teaching.

    Cons

Business school - lack of leadership, vision, and integrity. Little support for research or travel 3-3 load with an expectation for reasonable research productivity

    Advice to Management

World of opportunity. Good students, faculty, and business community. Failure to dream big enough to motivate follower ship - force faculty to do their own thing or just get comfortable with complacency.
