I worked at Toyota North America full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

great place to work for. good culture and developments. Best place I have ever worked. no other out there is this good.

    Cons

worked there for 30 years and made one mistake and was released. They say they care about their employees and yes they do. but we are all human and you should not be let go for a incident that nobody was hurt.

    Advice to Management

Pay more attention to your employees, let them know that you are there to help them and not to be surprised when an incident happens and you are surprised. you have good people working for you and I personally gave my life to care for the customer and you threw me out like trash after 30 years. not fair at all. need to focus more on the associate more.

    Pros

    Challenging work
    Great pay and benefits
    World class manufacturing systems

    Cons

Toyota is the best in the world at manufacturing, but there is an abundant amount of waste on the administrative side. All Toyota employees know that waste leads to frustration.

    Advice to Management

    1. Less focus on plant tours. We should not be putting production trials and work to improve safety second to visitor tours. In Powertrain the excessive amount of tours is sending the wrong message to our TMs. If we must have tours, let's send the message that we can continue work while the tour is occurring. Currently, the direction is to stop all trials and contractor work while the tour comes through the area.
    2. How about a lean administration role to reduce waste on the administrative side?Let's have a constant priority on waste reduction throughout the year, not just in October during JKK month. One month is not enough time to improve a complicated, faulty system.

    Cons

    Advice to Management

Better engagement of new employees, network with other interns, engage new employees with older experienced employees. overall good experience for little experience.
