    Pros

Amazing company to work for. They do not layoff employees and they promote, educate and invest in the employees they do have.

    Cons

Company is a little slow on employee development and growing the talent they have.

I have been working at Toyota North America (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Talented people who care about their work and are passionate about what they do. Great benefits and most managers strive to provide work/life balance for their teams.

    Cons

Wish Toyota wasn't moving to Texas, as I was hoping to retire with the company.

    Advice to Management

Keep hiring talented people with strong work ethic. And keep as much transparency as possible in relation to the move to Texas, and progress of the new teams at the new location.

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Toyota North America full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Company benefits and perks.
Many opportunities to try new things if you know the right people.
    Executive leadership generally transparent.

    Cons

Management very resistant to try anything new.
    Fast follower corporate mindset.
Low morale in many parts of the company.

    Advice to Management

You have really talented people who work here who will never realize their true potential because (1) managers don't care what special skills they have only that they can push paper, and (2) we're stuck in old processes with managers who don't want to experiment and try something new. We're still sending faxes to Japan for God's sake!

I worked at Toyota North America full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great benefits. Good work environment. Interesting projects. Good people.

    Cons

Moving to Plano, TX. Sometimes a little too focused on diversity vs. talent. So promotions seem to go to category, not best suited nor most talented/appropriate.

    Advice to Management

How do you know what the LGBT percentages are? Why do you work toward something you have no idea. You can't out people just to make your quota. Drop that hiring category goal. And for all others, put the most qualified person in the position

I have been working at Toyota North America full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great hiring process! Toyota is a power house when it comes to its reputation. The company is highly valued and respected globally. There is no reason to not be excited about started my post military career with a company such as Toyota! I'm MORE THAN READY to go places!

    Cons

Due to being a new hire, the only thing I can state as a Con would be not being explained if the Customer Relations Department rotates Saturday's off or not. We are told the days and hours of operation during our interviews, but this one piece of information is not explained until training. With the right HR Personnel in place, there's no reason why each employee shouldn't have at least 2 weekends off per month; it would decrease call ins and increase retention.

    Advice to Management

Because I am a new hire, I do not have any Cons at this time in relations to Management and their abilities/practices.

I have been working at Toyota North America as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Great pay and the 6 weeks of training set you up well for the job
    - Great inroads and networking to move around in the company

    Cons

    - Not very flexible with scheduling
    - Can get repetitive on a day in and day out basis

I worked at Toyota North America as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great job experience in the automotive industry. There was a lot of on the job training that complimented what I learned on the job. Corporate culture of safety and continuous improvement.

    Cons

Company was in the process of relocating during my time of employment. Multiple job responsibilities and very little feedback given. Driven by Japanese culture which leads to lots of inefficiencies.

    Advice to Management

Develop your intern program to have more structure other than training sessions. It was very frustrating to be taught one thing while being lectured by management about how the job actually works.

    Pros

God pay, good benefits, good job security, tool and die pretty easy physically some stress mentally but not too bad

    Cons

Management getting to power hungry, such a large company you're just a number not a person, not much room for getting to a preferred shift in maintenence so work life balance sucks
