I worked at Toys "R" Us Canada full-time

    Pros

Great members in the team, majority of the people you work with have a "yes we can do it" attitude. Dynamic work environment and industry.

    Cons

Not enough support staff, most teams across the board run very lean which leads to high level of stress and overworked employees. Low morale

    Advice to Management

Utilize third party facilitators to receive proper anonymous feedback. Employees are concerned about anonymity and potential backlash from providing negative feedback.

Make decisions based on empirical data, and not based on feeling.

I have been working at Toys "R" Us Canada full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

For 10$ hourly you are not ever able to advance with this company.

    Cons

I was fired because of a customer who used excessive profanity I warned the customer 5 times not and still willing to help that customer or I would have to disconnect the call. I got fired because I am African American and we don't have the right within toys R us policy to do what's written in policy but others are able.

    Advice to Management

Stop sending upper management calls to regular employees who shouldn't have taken those calls to avoid providing expected Quality the customers deserve for only 10$ hourly.

    Cons

Management was all over the place, to many chefs in the kitchen. Schedule was always posted late.

Needs better organization, less titles more leaderships

I have been working at Toys "R" Us Canada full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

flexible schedule, offered insurance if part time... Overtime during holiday

    Cons

Hours can be minimal, tasks can't get complete, management doesn't listen to seasoned people ,

    Advice to Management

Listen to people who have been there and stayed because they care, if a store can't get enough hours for a truck then management needs to help get the product out to sell!

    Pros

Plenty of hours during the holidays and there is always something to learn if you want more responsability

    Cons

In my experience the HR staff were never really helpful or knowledgable. When asking questions about certain forms or documents they rarely had an answer.

    Advice to Management

True with any job, but respect your employees and they will respect you in return.
