    I worked at Toys "R" Us part-time

    Pros

Allows you to pick your hours
Generally easy work, especially if you work as cashier.
    Less than proficient managers left.
    Decently above minimum wage pay.

    Cons

    Management may be lackluster still.
Working during seasonal is a hassle especially if you are a seasonal employee.
Rarely get to take a seat.

    Advice to Management

Some managers had it down perfectly as they were leaders instead of just bosses and treated those who did their jobs with respect. Others did the opposite.

I have been working at Toys "R" Us full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Coworkers are all very enjoyable. The guests are usually appreciative. Unfortunately there aren't a lot of pros regarding the operations of the business.

    Cons

The company is very unorganized. The hours are very limited for regular team members. The pay for supervisors and assistant managers is poor. I made more with my previous company just as a regular Team Leader.

    Pros

    10% Discount on most items.

    Cons

Long hours, poor management. Poor pay.

    Advice to Management

Hire a manager who wants to be there. Train them and don't change your policy so often that they can't keep up and continually punish them so they in turn punish us and everyone is frustrated.

I worked at Toys "R" Us full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Beautiful building/ campus, cafeteria, gym, fun events.

    Cons

Huge layoffs every year. Everyone is now doing the work of four people. This used to be a great place to work, but the company is struggling financially and now it's a tense, miserable environment to work in.

    Advice to Management

Management has led us down many strategic paths that have not worked out. Yet they continue to make lower level employees feel that it is their fault.

I worked at Toys "R" Us full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Creative people, friendly teams, on-campus gym and decent cafeteria. Starbucks located inside too! Depending on your manager, there were flexible WFH options for snow day and emergencies. Pretty flexible scheduling, too (ie: if you left at 4pm, you weren't docked an hour). Fun holiday-themed events (Halloween parade was awesome). Informative Town Hall meetings a few times a year helped to calibrate the teams and keep everyone up-to-date. Beautiful campus.

    Cons

Some people are very catty, can feel very clique-y at times. Favoritism was definitely played, too. Creative is left up to the opinions of too many people instead of being based off customer research and results. Marketing was also in the hands of the buying team instead of working together to collaborate and develop the best campaign for the customer. Lots of last minute changes and rushes with little reason aside from "So and so said to change it." Failing business seems to be more reactive to what everyone else planned for, instead of being proactive to be innovative and to stay ahead of the game.

    Advice to Management

Really listen to your teams. If someone wants to take on more, give them the opportunity to. Recognize where the deadweight is and address the BS sooner than later.

I worked at Toys "R" Us part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    I had some fun coworkers.

    Cons

Always over on hours each week despite having numerous call offs
    Management is unorganized.
    Little pay
    No room for advancement

    Advice to Management

If someone requests off a certain day, it is your responsibility to not schedule them then. Don't put someone on the schedule and expext them to find a replacement on their own

    I worked at Toys "R" Us full-time

    Pros

Great experience. Lots of hours available. Flexible schedules. If you are ready to work hard you can succeed at toys r us. You also get first access to sales and markdown products

    Cons

They expect you to work miracles with no people and in no time. Which I enjoy hard work and generally enjoyed the challenges they threw at me but at the end of the day I was getting paid less than a cashier at ALDI to manage an entire store so I decided it was time to move on

    Advice to Management

be prepared to work harder than you think you will. Toys R Us as a company is not doing well so they have cut back on pay role to extreme levels. There were many times that I was the only store manager in the building trying to run a 45k store with only two employees. so on top of running back and forth to get orders and deal with customer issues, I also had to jump on registers and try to clear the 20 plus people lines all while getting screamed at for not having enough employees to run the store. Which was true but there was nothing that i could do about it.
