    Cons

    - very cut-throat environment where you see firings and resignings happen often

    Pros

Free health insurance for entire family
    Company is financially stable
Good if you are looking to grow in the oil/metals business
Use this company to gain knowledge and knowhow of the business, then MOVE ON.

    Cons

    POOR personal life/family life balance
POOR salary structure. (They say due to bonus but lately bonuses are terrible.
    POOR Management
    SHADY business practices.

    Advice to Management

Managment is horribly setup. Main office wants control of everything but you report to local managers that arent proper managers, so they will do what it takes to keep you looking bad to corporate office. No formal training is done to these managers. Company policies are terrible. "travel on your own time" then if you travel this afternoon you must work until your flight on that day. I am giving up my weekend or evenigns with my kids, the least they can do is allow you some time in lieu.

The company doesnt care about its employees. All they care about is more money more money.
No raises in two years, they said it was becasue shares went up. This is irrelevent. Bonuses continute to go down. I left the company and am making $25K elsewhere.

    Pros

Well structured benefits and remuneration. Some truly gifted, intelligent people working there.

    Cons

Unfortunately, same people are not in position of management. "Aggressive" policies deemed a substitute for skill and or experience. This has lead to numbingly poor decisions, investments and trades. Witnessed exceptional and valued young workers resign in frustration when company purports to be nurturing same. Similar to other posts read, experienced outsiders brought in only to be sapped of knowledge and contacts in favour of an inner-circle that any other true trade shop would have sacked. Companies good trades/deals weighted down by those poor performers.

    Advice to Management

Management by fear reflects inherent weakness, petulant behaviour and inexperience. Could be an excellent company if would listed more as opposed to decision by edict.

    I worked at Trafigura full-time

    Pros

Good physical trading shop with a major edge in logistics and shipping. If that's your interest, you will see first-hand how that side of the business is properly run.

    Cons

Deeply confused financial traders who lack any real edge and bring the rest of the floor down (nat gas is particularly weak). Poor desk management, fairly chaotic desk organization. Junior people should be aware that they will often be given a choice to relocate to Asia or South America or seek employment elsewhere.

    Advice to Management

Try to instill some organization on the floor. IT and systems are a mess, need to clean that up. Compliance needs tightening up as well, too many guys push the envelope.
