      Great company to work for

      Pros

Company is large and constantly moving. There are many areas to work into and grow with. Great core values and cares for their employees.

      Cons

Because there is a lot going on there is also constant change in upper management, therefore more changes. Unfortunate.

No work/life balance and management is the worst!

      Pros

The benefits package is nice and the pay is okay.

      Cons

Stopped all pay increases for 2 yrs but upper management received their bonus. Stated it was normal to work OT on a regular basis along with having to do work on the weekends and on vacation. Senior management does not own up to their own mistakes and excepts their employees to take 100% ownership in theirs. Mid-level management treats employees with no respect and has no issues with yelling at you in your cube. There is no willingness in helping you to learn your job or new aspects of it, it's sink or swim. The department I was in had 5 people leave within two years and the size was 10 people or less. When someone leaves its at least three months to replace them, when their work is divided among the remaining members.

      Compressed Air Division

      Pros

Good earning potential, strong brand, good overall company name and reputation and history in the market, good people working for the company.

      Cons

Slow industry growth, Corporate management micromanages the sales force, upper management is disconnected from the business and does not have a clear growth strategy. Way to many management layers. Overall leadership is very poor in the compressed air division of the company and micromanages the sales teams too much. Local districts are not investing in the business and the customer and internal support is lacking.

      Pros

Free company coffee mugs and notepads. There are no other pros

      Cons

Think again if you would like to work here!!!I am an employee at the Davidson location. If your looking for development and growth this is not the place for you. Management is clueless and spends 95% of their time in pointless meetings. If you enjoy nepotism, promotions of non qualified candidates, being underpaid this is the place for you. As far as pay if your not seeking upper management positions get the salary you want because you will be nickled and dimed thereafter.

      OpEx is killing us

      Sep 25, 2018 - Senior Engineer

      Pros

Core values are good. Pay and benefits are adequate relative to work life balance.

      Cons

Corporate Climbers are jumping on the OpEx bandwagon, shoving it down our throats and rolling up imaginary benefits to justify their next promotion. We are making dumb decisions after wasting massive hours in magical thinking events where engineers struggle to implement long overdue ideas while upper management and OpEx coaches try to get us to agree that writing things down on paper is saving the company millions starting before the ink is dry.

Solid Company and Upper Leadership but, their vision is not the reality on the ground

      Aug 2, 2016 - Human Resources

      Pros

Love the vision of Leadership and focus on employee development and excellence. Great Benefits. There are many opportunities for advancement, IF you are willing to relocate, or if you just get lucky and know the right people at the right time. IR does have great employee Perks and benefits.

      Cons

The employee rating system and definitions are more dependent upon what manager you have and not necessarily your performance results. The best person is "not" always chosen for the job especially if they know someone involved in the decision making. Workers are the experts so most managers have no clue and just delegate. I hate to say it but, Upper Management has great vision and intent; however their vision and messaging is sabotaged and lost in the trickle down and/or is just not believed at all. Not all, but way too many middle managers play lip service and look good to upper management, but if you turn the view downward, the reality is completely different. Huge gap. Very disappointing and discouraging to say the least. It’s like seeing this great pie in the sky vision and winding up with mud.

Decent people, poor upper management and communication

      Oct 30, 2011 -  in Minneapolis, MN
      Recommend

      Business Outlook

      Pros

They do a pretty decent job of allowing you to balance work and life, so that is a plus. Pretty decent coworkers as well

      Cons

The upper management at the company does a very poor job of communicating. Often times you have projects that can't move forward because you don't know what business is going to be sold next week.
