    Negative Outlook

I worked at Trans-Bridge Lines full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Layover in the city. Mostly new equipment. Most coworkers are kind and willing to give advice.

    Cons

this job will suck the life out of you. Management will expect you to have open availability, and to work every day of the week with no days off. This company is struggling for drivers, and it shows. Be expected to work over 75 hours per week with no overtime, and no benefits. It takes an employee on average 9 months of grueling schedule and shift changes to get "full time" status. When you finally become full time you...

    Advice to Management

Maybe there is a reason you are so short of drivers constantly. Treat employees with some decency and maybe you'll be able to hold onto some.

    Neutral Outlook

I have been working at Trans-Bridge Lines full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Fellow employees are great people with morals and self respect. Passengers are for the most part very nice. Vehicles are well maintained.

    Cons

Owner and management look down on their employees and discriminate. A huge responsibility is placed on the drivers but they are not trusted. There is no "discussion" allowed for improvement or change. Very frustrating for those employees that are dedicated and would love to see the company succeed.

    Advice to Management

Open your eyes and minds to new ideas. Appreciate your current employees and maybe then you would have more people wanting to be a part of your company.

    No opinion of CEO

I have been working at Trans-Bridge Lines

    Pros

My fellow employees are great and the work is not difficult. Basic cashier and customer service skills needed. Area is safe. Customers are usually nice, as long as buses are reasonably on time and not canceled. Perk of being able to ride the NYC bus for free is nice. Owners show appreciation to their staff with a nice Christmas lunch out, a Summer Picnic day, occasionally buys the office pizza and monthly birthday cake,...

    Cons

Pay is slightly below average. Computer systems, programs and equipment are old and completely outdated. Lots of duplication of work because of this. Lots of room for human error and that is frustrating. No formal training given at all. Management does not seem to trust the staff with even the simplest of tasks, like typing out their own envelopes, getting supplies, ect. This is very discouraging. Choice of Ticket Office...

I have been working at Trans-Bridge Lines full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Pay is not bad for what you do.

    Cons

Long hours and no paid sick days. Health benefits cost too much. Low employee morale. Management here are all above 60 years old and needs new blood and ideas.

    Advice to Management

Get with the modern age. Modern technology needs to be used. Enforce your own policies and increase employee morale. Hire younger managers with energy and ideas instead of the same old guys who have no ideas.
