I have been working at TransPerfect as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

The management is great, especially compared to local NoVa interpreting companies and their rates are fair

    Cons

It's always one or two hours assignments, you rarely get the occasion to do more

    Advice to Management

I am happy with the management, they're understanding and it's pleasant to interact with them

I worked at TransPerfect full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Some flexibility with schedule, opportunity to switch shifts, great colleagues, and great PTO.

    Cons

Pay raise is very low and a very slow process: every 2 years you will get just a few cents.

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at TransPerfect as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

I work remotely, hence the pros are the pros of our job, freedom to work from home, no pressure in hours and all else that goes with being a contractor.

    Cons

NO CALL VOLUME for Spanish which the #1 hottest languages in the USA. The volume starts in the afternoon and you could be eight hours connected during business hours and reach at most 200 minutes on a good day. That is unheard of in this line of business. The system they use is very faulty and old fashioned compared to other companies, it is Windows-based and uses ie that is a weak browser. Of the little calls that are routed to one interpreter during a work day, many are lost before they arrive at the phone line, it seems these are routed to many interpreters are the same time and others can answer the calls before you do. What can we do to get more call volume at TransPerfect?

    Advice to Management

Get more call volume for Spanish, get more clients and/or stop hiring new interpreters.

    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at TransPerfect part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Good entry level job

    Cons

No room for growth within the company as an interpreter. The management does not have consistent work policies and hire inexperienced mid-levels. The compensation is poor compared to industry standard. Absolutely disliked the experience at Transperfect.

    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at TransPerfect full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

NONE. Honestly this is just a company that instead of caring about their employees they just care about getting more contracts to fill their pockets and that is it

    Cons

No Respect, they are abusive, you can take all kinds of calls they check your performance and they pay you nothing for all the work that you have to do. they demand a lot from you but they dont commit to you in any sort of way

    Advice to Management

If you are going to demand so many things from your interpreters make sure you compensate accordingly. Pretty sure Im will submit my resignation letter soon.

As an interpreter in new york, i had a very bad experience, the communication with the staff is very poor, they want you to work more hours than agreed then you don't get paid for it. Its a very poor managment

    Cons

Low pay, you pay for your training, they send assignments then take it back while you already in the place , or send 2 interpreters to3 the same place. Horribale company

    Pros

None, no pros that I can think off

    Cons

    Supervisors think they own you
    Worst flexibility regarding schedules
    Harrasment

    Advice to Management

You should take a look at your remote interpreter supervisors, especially the Indian ones, and TEACH them some manners or straight up fire them. You CANNOT perform good at a job when you feel they are all over you

    Pros

Many people say they will help you for on boarding.

    Cons

Refused to pay me in NC. I up,oared a sheet I had to get signed by the customer. (So old school). They used my sheet to bill the customer, but did not pay me and refused to call me back in order to cause failure. DO NOT WORK FOR THEM!

    Advice to Management

All this bad press for $106.00 you refuse to pay for work done.

I worked at TransPerfect full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Paid training for the new hire. Work from home. 15 holidays per year.

    Cons

Need higher speed internet and a good computer to work with them but no reimbursement. Expensive Insurance for dependants. No sick days. Your supervisor calls you all the time for itty bitty things.
