I worked at TransPerfect full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Young office and great people You will learn a decent amount This taught me to REALLY appreciate past and future jobs/companies

    Cons

Understaffed, underpaid unless you are extremely senior. Compensation is almost pyramid scheme-esque. Your first 3-5 years in this sale role you will be making anywhere from a quarter of a percent to (max) two percent commission while your manager or director makes the other 9%. INSANE. 60-80 hour weeks for 40k/year

    Advice to Management

    Pay your employees better.

I have been working at TransPerfect full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Fun and challenging projects all around, and great people. The company is very hip, and willing to invest in people and in their ideas.

    Cons

Being in such an urban environment, there's usually very little time for any offhour team building excercises.

I have been working at TransPerfect full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I work with great people and everyone is always very helpful, you're definitely part of a team here. The location is also pretty nice!

    Cons

The pay is not that great, also the shift schedule can definitely be stressful at times. Additionally, while the location is nice the building I'd not.

    Advice to Management

I think people put in a lot of effort to their work but the pay doesn't show much people put in.

I have been working at TransPerfect full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Smart/great people get hired and become amazing friends/colleagues.

    Cons

-Pay is well below average, especially for middle-to-senior level Client Service professionals. -Technology products have dedicated groups that don't help Production/CS as much as they should with implementation. -Bonus incentives are a joke. I've managed well over $2m in revenue, multiple years, and have even closed deals FOR sales people, and I see MAYBE .002% of that portfolio in the form of a bonus. -The Sr. Sales...

    Advice to Management

-Use some of the lawsuit money to increase pay and afford better bonuses for the top performers in CS, Production, and other departments. -Create DEDICATED Testing and QA departments that can review all deliverables before sending to clients. -Rely less on outsourced talent. -Offer training to your managers. -... again... "Play hard, work harder"

    StarStarStarStarStar
      Former Employee - Sales

I worked at TransPerfect full-time for more than a year

      Pros

great culture, great people, excellent events, room for quick promotion

      Cons

-low wages unless you're at the top, expected to be on call 24/7, employee perks are not great, no consistency across promotions

      Advice to Management

establish a standard requirement for promotions, pay your people more and be more appreciative since they are the ones literally doing all the work to put money in your pockets.

I have been working at TransPerfect full-time for more than 3 years

      Pros

Great people - team oriented, hard-working, young /energetic, and proactive personnel.

      Cons

Family of companies does not work as seamlessly as marketed. Company acquisitions can be improved with better integration of human resources, and beta-testing of new technologies. Division within local offices are highly compartmentalized and siloed off. Information sharing is difficult and direct network tunneling to other offices are not accessible. Company is experiencing a lot of infrastructural growing pains...

      Advice to Management

Stop growing new offices. There is a huge need to standardize workflows across offices, improve IT/network infrastructure and make satellite offices self reliable.

        I worked at TransPerfect

        Pros

You might meet some great people, but they won't stick around for long...and neither should you.

        Cons

Long hours and no appreciation...ridiculously high turnover!
