I worked at TransPerfect full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

    - Great line of diverse products to sell (most of them are very competitive) - Fun co-workers (heavily dependent on location) - Plethora of Industry savvy co-workers to learn product knowledge and sales tips from - POTENTIAL for long term high pay - Benefits (Health insurance and PTO) are significantly better than most small-mid size companies

    Cons

    - Pyramid scheme with extra perks structure - Very low starting salary for all jobs - Morale in most locations - Work/Life balance is terrible compared to most good sales teams - You are expected to manage accounts for which you don't get paid, but your managers do (they're essentially milking you for free work so they can get commission). - Upper management. Advice to Management

    - Trim the fat, upper management should be pulling their weight or leading by example. - Spread the wealth, i'm not going to stay around closing over half a million my first year and getting 5K in commission while my boss gets 45K for micromanaging me everyday (true story) - Continue to develop the training structure, it is paying off but still far from excellent.

I have been working at TransPerfect full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Great benefits. Most if not all coworkers are willing to work help you or offer advice. The role is very entrepreneurial

    Cons

Be prepared to work in a very saturated market. Really bad work/life balance and senior management does not care.

    Pros

fun, young, interesting coworkers, convenient locations

    Cons

the hiring model revolves around recruiting and exploiting recent college grads. new employees are overwhelmed with an impossible amount of work and horrible pay with the assumption that these young professionals don't know any better and won't stick up for themselves. turnover rate is extremely high - no one i met there was happy or planning to stay. absolutely terrible work life balance....

I worked at TransPerfect full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great learning experience, work hard/play harder culture, young colleagues, great after work events/ parties. Business casual, not stuffy at all.

    Cons

THEY DON'T PAY ENOUGH. Remote work is very possible but not encouraged and I'm still not sure why. The work life balance is straight up crap I can't even sugar coat that. Training is laughable- there is no formal aspect to it and a kind of a throw you at the wall and hope you stick protocol. Hiring is based on whether or not managers will socialize well with prospective employees,...

    Advice to Management

Learn how to MANAGE! You cannot be passive aggressive and expect people to respect you and work under you. Pay people what they are worth or at least close especially if you want them to work all hours of the day and night.

I worked at TransPerfect full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Can’t think of any pros unless you are fresh out of college and desperately need a job. If you have any job experience, you will see that this place is run like a joke and the only way to get promoted is to become best friends with a management. Previous work experience isn’t valued at all, and everyone running the place has never worked anywhere else.

    Cons

Everything! There’s no work life balance, you are expected to be in the office for at least 10 hours everyday, and then be available 24/7 on your phone for clients. There’s zero overtime pay on top of the super low pay that you get. Way too many office politics and brown nosing is the only way to get ahead. Do yourself a favor and don’t waste your time here.

    Advice to Management

Train your managers, and hire some people with real work experience

I worked at TransPerfect full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Quick-paced, a good amount of responsibility.

    Cons

TransPerfect fosters a high-stress, blame-centric environment. It's difficult to feel accomplished or proud of one's work with employees being so pressured to produce that the quality of the work slips. Processes are developed but nearly impossible to adjust to unique cases, which leads to mistakes being forgotten and little development. Little work-life balance and diminishing...

I worked at TransPerfect full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Great team. All the employees are young and fun.

    Cons

All the reviews are true, no work life balance. The hours are long and the pay is below average, including the bonuses. It's way too much stress for such low pay.

    Advice to Management

Either fix the work life balance or pay the employees more. One or the other will help the high turnover rates at this company.
