    Pros

    Cons

None when I worked there until the cyberattack, then I had no work.

    QA/MT/Editor/Admin

    Pros

The lower level admin team worked well together. As an MT, if you are able to handle a complex account with a high percentage of ESL dictators, you will rarely, if ever, run out of work to do - same with QA, which, in my opinion is the place to be if you work here - as long as you are happy to keep your head down and your mouth shut and make what you make for the rest of your life.

    Cons

I worked in the same position for nearly 5 years and was given 1 very small pay raise. Job responsibilities continued to expand, but my paycheck did not. Rather than posting a position internally and giving experienced staff members an opportunity to advance, someone from outside the company was hired to lead the team (this was done twice within the same year). Communication between the people who do the actual work and the people in charge is atrocious. If you bring an issue to their attention, you're told you should have handled it yourself. If you handle something yourself, you're told it was outside the scope of your job responsibilities and you should have "reached out" to *insert name of unreachable person here*. The team lead position either needs to be filled by someone who is familiar with the accounts and the SOPs of the company or eliminated completely - scheduling and time off could be handled by one of the seemingly endless supply of administrative assistants who seem to each handle 1 very narrow, very specialized function.

One of the best in a bad industry

    Sep 19, 2017 - Medical Transcriptionist/Editor

    Pros

Telecommute job. No offshore hiring, all USA workers. They were very fair in their audit assessments, and went above and beyond in training to help me improve my speed (and thus pay). They nearly always had work available. Benefits were above average for the industry. If you insist on working in the medical transcription field, this is one of the best companies available.

    Cons

This is a medical transcription company, and the transcription industry is terrible to work in these days; in all transcription companies, pay is very low and it is hard to make a living wage. Very little interaction with management, and none with coworkers; hard to feel like part of the "team" because you don't know anyone else on the team.

    Don't waste your time.

    Pros

Getting to work from home was the only plus to this job.

    Cons

The pay is disgusting and insulting - just barely over minimum wage (and I mean by a few cents). You would think they would pay their employees better considering we are educated people handling legal medical documents and the company has very little overhead since employees work from home. Constant harassment from management with phone calls and emails even when your quality is above average. Workload is not consistent. Expect to resort to drawing partial unemployment to pay your bills, and then be threatened and harassed over that as well. The recruiters will promise you one thing, but you will get another. My pay was cut twice since the time I started because they put you on multiple accounts that do not pay the same across the board. There are no pay raises or incentives, so do not expect to better yourself or advance in any way with this company, no matter what they tell you.

    Medical Transcription QC

    Pros

Consistency - few things change, except for the employees (which change constantly). Generous paid time off (though very difficult to actually use).

    Cons

No pay raise in over 6 years, constant turnover of personnel, only 1 performance appraisal in 6 years (which seemed to be a CYA tool instead of a true eval), always harping on negatives (no matter how small) and rarely offering praise. Estimate that only 10% of employees have been there longer than 2 years. VERY expensive health insurance for VERY poor coverage.

    Pros

Work from home, SOME nice shift leads, if you have a true emergency, they let you leave work

    Cons

Pay is awful (3.21 cents for voice rec and 7 cents for transcribing), Big Brother mentality (if you go to the bathroom, you've got to make up the time), PTO time is minimal and GETTING time off is spotty at best, not getting paid if there is no work/if you spend time looking something up like a doctor's name or drug (all the companies are that way not just TTS), benefits cost quite a bit compared to what you get paid (about 35% of your pay for medical) and ALWAYS being told what you've done wrong (you've got to maintain a 98% accuracy so you're not as bad as they try to make you feel) and NEVER being told what a good job you're doing.

CEO is an unrealistic "off with their heads" nut case.

    Pros

As an IC they paid better than most MTSOs. They offered direct deposit and paid on time. I was able to get a good line count with the Chartnet software.

    Cons

The method which they keep track of time of "fingers on the keyboard" is so strict that it makes you a slave to the keyboard. If you fall even a little below the required hours of constant typing per day you will be fired with no warning. If you commit yourself to 8 hours a day it will most likely take you 10-11 hours to get to that 8 hours of constant typing. So, realistically, you are not an independent contractor.

Not a good experience, but management was helpful

    Pros

Work at home, set own hours. QA available for questions.

    Cons

I was put on too many different hospital accounts to get familiar with dictators. The quality of the dictation was typically for almost all of the dictation I received .. the sound quality was muffled and sounded like came out of a tin can. Very difficult to get time off and considering I was employed as an independent contractor I found that unreasonable as I rarely ask off.

    Pros

Orientation team very nice and helpful. Recruiter awesome. That is where it stops.

    Cons

You are expected to know all your hospital specifics and their WRONG way with capitalization. They do give adequate time to unlearn BOS. They are all about line count, after that quality. No time is given during probation period to really learn account specifics and they will let you go in a heartbeat, during the probation period. I would NOT recommend working here.

    Pros

Decent support and communication, reasonably stable supervisors, usually adequate work.

    Cons

Paycut to be FTE rather than IC. Seemingly no way to move up in company.
