I have been working at Transfield Services full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Decent pay, good people, steady work. Jobs all over the country and the world. Good place to work.

    Cons

The benefit package here is very weird. 1500 hours to get benefits is way too long. I've never heard of anything over 3 months before working here.

    Advice to Management

I have no advice for the management. There are some old timers here who just don't like new people which is kinda dumb but that's my only complaint.

    Pros

Pay was average however they expect their employees to put up with a lot of payroll mistakes and are constantly shorting employees out of pay

    Cons

Poorly trained supervisors, Huge favoritism, people get promoted in this company through friendships and not through hard work and dedication like they should. Spent 4 years working for this company and decided to move on.

    Advice to Management

Get qualified safety managers instead of people who were friends being promoted

I worked at Transfield Services full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

ability to work internationally, learn about humans, SAP exposure, especially implementations

    Cons

too much bureaucracy - you gotta be able to play the game and accept that some people are milking the company as much as they can, many cases when wives and other relatives are being employed on some amazing terms, they had to tighten up the belt in 2012-2014 but a lot of nepotism and unfairness still, some are on "workers comp" - especially in Australia, many people are lawyering up when they are made redundant/are laid odd... I was young and had idealistic view of the world and wanted to make the company better - worked 15 hour days, stupid girl, I am now almost 30 - looked back - was not worth it but I lived in a few countries while working for them so that is good. I was severely underpaid, the company transferred me and because I had a work visa - they knew they could keep me for cheap - it was embarrassing as I was the cheapest resource but I learnt acceptance and putting my EGO at bay but hey... very unfair treatment.. as so I know earn triple, crazy.

    Advice to Management

Continue milking while you can - money and greed rules the world I guess.... on your platform of existence

I worked at Transfield Services full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Paycheck, benefits, direct supervisor helpful

    Cons

Inconsistent communication, outsourcing depts. and closing offices, no bonuses or increases for employees, outsourcing departments, lack of direction because of ongoing changes in US operations

    Advice to Management

Value the employees that are risking lives everyday and making a profit and providing paychecks for mgt. Just to increase share price, eliminating positions, departments and offices is unfair. Outsourcing functions and departments to India is unfair when qualified onsite employees are let go in order to save money. Reexamine nepotism policies for mgt. Very misleading communication to employees vs. public shareholders.

    Pros

The pay is well and veteran workers with job knowledge ,experience makes them vital for they have the ability to get the job completed even under adverse conditions that is what makes them a more professional employee.

    Cons

BIASED, more experienced workers being overlooked because of personal relations personal opinion unjust reprimands without being investigated fairly based of personal feelings lack of leadership experience also no employee appreciation at all .

    Advice to Management

Get to KNOW your employees do Not always trust the biased opinions of lower management .WE appreciate the fact you acquired Welltech safety .If you made surprise visits to the refineries unescorted without certain management you would receive HONEST opinion of the workers in the field with employees that feel like they matter They will take more pride and professionalism in their job morale will improve .Therefore revenue will increase and your more experienced employees will stay..But you still have a lot of the same practices that are continuing and they will continue unless you make some changes we will more then likely continue to loose vital contracts..
