I worked at Transocean full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Interesting sector, company and staff are not of the highest quality, many senior people there due to connections. Awful company and employees are scared there.

    Cons

Not reliable, not trustworthy, impossible to achieve career goals, senior management look after friends not a meritocracy environment, ruthless, obtuse and rife with corporate bullying. Liars, dishonest, self centered, too many people doing nothing, depressing environment, will promise the world and not deliver.

    Advice to Management

Fire all of them hilarious to see them at work. Blind leading the blind. Shareholders should stay away.

    Pros

    Pay and benefits are okay.

    Cons

difficult place to advance for women. would like to have opportunity to move into other roles but seem to have zero mobility for women.

    Advice to Management

Don't just have your "token" female executive. There are many women just as capable if not more capable than the men. Open your minds and give us a chance!

    Pros

Good Stock and 401K options, Friday afternoons half day.

    Cons

Long work days with overwhelming global supply chain issues at every point. Several out of date systems that bog work flow. Heavy debt issues with vendors struggling as much as department staffers.

    Advice to Management

Good Luck working out the Peoplesoft merger issues!

    Approves of CEO

I worked at Transocean full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

CEO has a good vision for the company. Nice 401k match. There is a foodcourt downstairs. Twenty words. Twenty. Words.

    Cons

I don't think I have enough space to accurately describe how toxic mid and some upper management is. They pay each other on the back yet do not focus on employee growth or training. Feedback is "encouraged" and retaliation is the name of the game.

    Advice to Management

Comb through the mess that is now mid management. Look past the fluff and listen to the peons. I do not know a single employee who is actually happy to come to work in the morning. It's a paycheck and nothing more. Yes, we are lucky to have a job but you are also lucky to have the talent. Treat it as such.

    Cons

lies,, OIM, tool pushers, drillers Engineers, office peronal,,all full of crap you can beleive or trust anyone of them, no one has their story straight,,, also,, to many clicks you gotta be in the click or your just gonna get stepped on,

    Advice to Management

cut the lies out of your business, and take better care of loyal people , instead of a bunch of kids

    Pros

Ok salary, benefits, logistics. Could be a lot better without all the favoritism.

    Cons

Hard to move up unless you make friends with ppl in upper management. I personally know someone who literally told me that he has a friend who's a big shot at the Houston office and he's making sure he's name its not on the list for layoffs. This guy it's also one of those ppl who's always trying to get out of doing any work. Always acting like he's busy only when the tool pusher it's around. Wish this company would get rid of sorry people like this. You see them in every rig. It's horrible.

    Advice to Management

Stop putting your friend's ahead of actual competence. conflict of interest? Isn't that what is called?
