    Pros

Transocean encourages cross training amoung all the facets of the business which allows employees to keep from becoming complacent or stagnated as well as develop a better understand of how these facets work together.

    Cons

Work loads can be demanding and since a bulk of the busness concerns 24hr a day operations employees tend to have distorted work/persnal time.

    Advice to Management

Travel for offshore personel needs to be of higher quality with more flexibility. Exhausted personnel arriving on these facilities is a recipe for incidents.

I have been working at Transocean part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I really enjoyed working here part-time for a few months while I was in college. The legal and corporate executives were very friendly people who allowed me to keep a flexible schedule around my classes.

    In sum, I appreciated:
    Friendly people
Flexible schedule - I created my own
    Nice corporate office
    Great central location

My supervisor always made sure I put my academics first and would check in to make sure I had a good balance in my schedule between work and school. I could take time off or change my work hours when I needed to - no questions asked.

    Cons

No real big downsides that I can recall, however I was not employed full time or permanently so my experience is limited.

I imagine that if I worked in the C-suite over a long time could get boring? I'm personally not a classic "corporate exec type".

    Advice to Management

    N/A

    Pros

Travel a lot, great place to work, lots of exposure, great people to work with, world's largest fleet

    Cons

Training only provided to offshore personnel not onshore personnel. They do offer tuition reimbursement but if you are traveling a lot there is no time.

    Advice to Management

Invest in onshore personnel as much as offshore personnel.
