    Pros

Good Pay, Regular schedule, Able to advance as far as you are willing to work for.. For the most part, good coworkers and local management.

    Cons

Being gone more than 6 months out of the year, randomly adding company required coursed in our off time, depending on the rig you are assigned to, the in house politics can sometimes be absurd

    Advice to Management

Well, the layoff procedure could use a little work.. waiting until right before people go home from the rig, or right after they get off the rig is pretty weak.. I understand not wanting a disgruntled employee messing things up, but still , pretty weak

I worked at Transocean full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Interesting sector, company and staff are not of the highest quality, many senior people there due to connections. Awful company and employees are scared there.

    Cons

Not reliable, not trustworthy, impossible to achieve career goals, senior management look after friends not a meritocracy environment, ruthless, obtuse and rife with corporate bullying. Liars, dishonest, self centered, too many people doing nothing, depressing environment, will promise the world and not deliver.

    Advice to Management

Fire all of them hilarious to see them at work. Blind leading the blind. Shareholders should stay away.

I worked at Transocean full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

None. They own you not just 40 hours a week but nights and weekends.

    Cons

Management is awful!. Manager, has no management skills. Keeps employees who can't do basic IT, cant show up on time, and doesn't work but won't fire them for fear that they will shoot him. Loses good IT staff who gets work done. Over works his hard working staff. Example of poor management he used a college graduate with 10 years experience, in IT and servers answering the phones full time, and doing basic IT support and supporting servers when he has 4 high school graduates who were hired to answer the phone and take care of basic IT support sitting around watching YouTube.

    Advice to Management

They have some more House Cleaning to do.
