I worked at Transport for London full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    - good work-life balance and flexible hours - good pay compared to industry salaries and great perks (health insurance, free piblic transport, pension) - interesting projects

    Cons

    - the culture is do-minimum - you have to push continually people who don't want to work - everyone has their own agenda, few people really care about doing a good job - no incentives for good performers - promotion opportunities are limited

I have been working at Transport for London full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Free travel, 30 days leave, final salary pension, very inclusive work culture

    Cons

Regimented pay systems mean very uneven progression, and historical pay disparities mean you can be earning half as much as people doing the same job. Constant restructuring which is often handled poorly. Very powerful unions mean that some staff have become very entitled and can be difficult to work with.
