I have been working at Travel Leaders Group full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Wonderful people. Great location. Beautiful office space. Networking opportunities are endless and access to excellent properties, locations, etc.

    Cons

Medical is horrible. They do not cover family members. To add a spouse or child would cost upwards of $900 per month in premiums. Salary is much lower than comparable positions in the industry. Technology is about 5 years behind the times. Leadership does not want to invest in the tools and technology required to do your job. Nickel and dime on expenses. Travel company that doesnt let you travel.

    Advice to Management

    - Provide medical to all family members at an affordable rate. Other, much smaller travel management companies do it which means you can too - Across the board salary bumps to align salaries with industry standards. - Invest in the tools which will decrease manhours, increase efficiency and minimize errors. A no-brainer for the long term with a greater ROI - Look beyond leisure

I worked at Travel Leaders Group part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Good consortium, Love my coworkers, its in a good location, lots of work to be done

    Cons

Not an easy place to work, the environment is stressful due to employer/owners actions/verbal abuse/and more, high turn over, promised commission and never revived it due to double wage charge against the commission earnings.

I worked at Travel Leaders Group full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Free food sometimes when vendors come in. Better building than the previous, but the location is worse

    Cons

    - The team is managed by inexperience and inefficiency - Turnover rate is high and unhappiness rate is even higher - You are told NOT to talk to your business partners if your manager feels they are threatening, therefore removing any aspect of collaboration to advance - Everyone hired is basically coming from a single recruiter, basically sends out an email through one of the major social media career sites ... to anyone who has a certain number of years experience in finance and waits for people to bite. They basically want to get people in fast so if you meet the experience you are pretty much good to go regardless of what you've done in the past or what you look to accomplish in your career. And its clear leading a team of experienced finance professionals is not part of the current plan. - The average tenure within Finance is about 1.5 years. - No clear path as to what your job scope is or where it is going, its basically come in everyday without knowing what you are doing or when you are leaving. - Micromanagement to a degree that is borderline insane...no joke

    Advice to Management

Please pay attention to who is being hired in leadership positions. A leader should have the respect of their team, be seen as a mentor, and should have their team's best interests in mind

    Pros

    work at home is good

    Cons

some new leaders but they continue to follow the paths of past leaders. Doing the same old thing and employees are expected to be happy, but in reality doing the same thing will yield same results. The leaders have been involved in a lawsuit by a former female VP. It seems they are now going overboard promoting females to try to throw off their bad behavior in the past. Try treating people fairly and compensating... fairly. The answer given that everyone else does it this way is no longer good these days. New leaders should lead with new ideas.

    Advice to Management

stop trying to cover up for past mistakes. step out and correct the wrongs of the past by doing the right thing going forward. treat people based on success instead of doing the same thing and considering it normal.

I have been working at Travel Leaders Group full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Some people have been here forever.

    Cons

The hours are insane. No matter what you do, you will never get anywhere unless you are a former PRN (referred to as being part of the Mafia here). Most of the people who were here are gone now and it is flooded with the Mob. They introduced a 401K but you don't vest in for years. The health insurance is so high, it almost makes it worth it to work at McDonalds instead. This is not a minority friendly environment... and HR covers up for the rest of management. The travel agents do all the work and don't get any of the benefits. All of the money goes to the top. Either way, the industry is pretty dead but we had a good year because of rising prices this year. Management just wants to line their pockets and sell. There is no advancement here. It's a dead end. Google the sexual harassment cases.

    Advice to Management

Stop robbing the people that do all the work and treat your employees better. Be more diverse and hire people not from PR.

I have been working at Travel Leaders Group full-time

    Pros

Work at home is really the only pro

    Cons

Many of the managers have no idea how to properly work in the travel industry. Cannot read a reservation or just push it off on someone else and then take credit for it.

    Advice to Management

Appreciate those who are doing all the work
