I have been working at Travelex (More than a year)

    Pros

    Sales Consultants work in Teams
    Environmental friendly
Established lasting relationship with our customers
Serving our customers is our priority

    Cons

Some of the locations should be enlarged

    Advice to Management

Spend much time with new hires

I worked at Travelex (More than a year)

    Pros

    Chance to work full-time
    work separate from manager
Lots of down time between customers
good experience in customer service, managing a large cash drawer and sales
able to work on homework or do other things as long as you are being professional and aide customers as soon as they arrive

    Cons

Waiting between customers can be tedious and boring
schedule is completed a month in advance and only having a few other coworkers at a location may limit possibilities to ask for time off

    Advice to Management

Some of the tactics and products they wanted us to employ, seemed counterproductive in my opinion. Many times making the pitch as I was taught was more likely to hurt, rather than help the sale.

I have been working at Travelex part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Multi-cultural work environment
    - Great pay for part-time jobs ($11/hour)
    - Doesn't need a lot of work experience to apply just a lot of integrity and a great attitude
    - Very easy work once you memorize all the procedures (so easy it's almost boring)
    - Management is pleasant to work with and will help you learn and fix mistakes
    - This is GREAT to put on a resume
    - You meet people from all over the world with mind-blowing stories. (I once exchanged currency for two women who were stuck in the Himalaya mountains during the Nepal earthquake, and my coworker once exchanged for Ryan Lochte- I'm serious.)

    Cons

    - My location is in an airport, so going through TSA every day can be a pain. Additionally, some of the workers and passengers don't understand that what they deem as flirting with a sales consultant (it's bound to happen) borders on or sometimes even oversteps the boundaries of sexual harassment. You can tell them to leave but it's pointless to call security or management on them because by the time anyone has arrived to help you they'll probably have walked away by then. Management will talk to airport employees for you if their behavior becomes to aggressive or creepy, however.

    - There aren't many cons! I've worked here for more than a year and it's because the work is easy and management will take care of you. Don't plan on leaving any time soon!

I worked at Travelex full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I worked at a mall kiosk for Travelex. Pretty easy day. Sales targets can be easy to meet if you try.

    Cons

Boring. Working in a mall can get frustrating, since there are no amenities to the booth.

    Advice to Management

    Offer higher wages.

    Pros

You learn the most basic stuff of how to trade all currencies, market fluctuations, gold prices, what percentage CC companies take when you use your CC abroad and much more.

    Cons

HQs are either in London, Canada or NYC. I was always confused which department was were.
There was not a well-designed Training Program for new hires, all would depend on what you learned from former co-workers.

    Advice to Management

Test all new hires in basic math, how to calculate a percentage for example.

    Pros

Very easygoing job. The benefits are great. They even help you pay for college. They pay 100 percent if the field you are studing is directly related to Travelex.

    Cons

High demands. The Sales Consultant title is tested when you find yourself doing management duties, but it does make you feel proud of the things you are doing.

    Advice to Management

I would advice them to try to promote more within. I have been working really hard for a position that is still to become open. I hope when it does I am offered the chance to take it dead on. I know I would be perfect for the job.
