    Pros

Great travel company carrying the American Express brand brand. It's fun to work in travel. The team is diverse and fun. Great opportunities to grow.

Things move fast, culture is to take risks and try new things while delivering a great product to business travel customers. The leadership team is smart and trustworthy

    Cons

Lack of social activity due to mostly virtual environment. Pros outweigh cons.

I have been working at Travelink full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Lots of learning tools and a great foundation for starting out in marketing.

    Cons

Lacks training, structure, and onboarding information. Needs newer technology.

    Advice to Management

Guidebooks, a training course, and a couple of tech classes would be helpful.

I have been working at Travelink full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Slightly better pay than what I was getting before
    Liked working from home

    Cons

    Call center it is.
Was told they are "boutique" agency but it is a call center where frustrated clients
come to when they have problems booking travel online or things go wrong.
Need to handle/follow up on mistakes other agents made.
If you don't have the heart of stone like those airport counter agents do, this is not for you.

I worked at Travelink full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Growing business in many aspects depending on department. Advancement if you work hard and know the right people. Great with American Express GBT as a rep office

    Cons

Owners seem stuck in old fashion ways to do business do not generally care about people. No employee enrichment to speak of and no fair playing field for employees at any level. lots of favoritism and Inconsistency in leadership from to the top down. Poor communications of important business changes kept employees in the dark.

    Advice to Management

Allow the professionals you hire to make changes needed to bring the company into thje 21st century and make it a more enjoyable work place instead of a toxic environment.

I have been working at Travelink full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I changed industries to work in Travel after 16 years on automotive and happy to be associated with a midsize company that works with a big brand, American Express Travel. In addition, I appreciate the strength in the leadership team to continue striving for excellence and willingness to change course to do so. Change isn't easy and most people don't care for it, but when you find something that works you don't just do that. You continue to hone it and keep it aimed at the future of your customers and industry. I have confidence Travelink will continue to operate in this manner.

    Cons

It's different for everyone because we have a lot of people who work from home, the offices we have all operate in a unique way, we have independent advisors and the positions themselves are very different so offering benefits, incentives, and compensation packages that are "fair" to everyone is a challenge.

I worked at Travelink full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Small company nice people wonderful clients. Benefits include 401k with a company match.

    Cons

This is a high stress job. You need to know how to manage your time. A corporate travel agent is a dying breed. I would not recommend my children get into it. Low pay, high stress, no travel benefits and very low pay increases 1-3 percent. Since most agents work out of house all they look at is how much you produce and quality of work. They don't take into consideration how well you service the clients.

    Advice to Management

Please consider where your employees work and the cost of living in those places and base the salary on that. Just because you are located in the south and the cost of living is low please make adjustments for people living in high priced cities.

"Typical call center environment while trying to work emails in between nonstop calls."

    StarStarStarStarStar
    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee
    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

    Pros

Work from home, great coworkers who try to deliver and are very knowledgeable in all aspects of travel

    Cons

Low pay, spread to thin to keep up with the volume. Stressed out trying to decide between repling to nonstop emails or calls. Then get chastised because you cant do two things at once.False impression to corporate client that they are a boutique agency interested in service first. They should just be honest and say they operate just like any travel call center with emails added to the mix.

    Advice to Management

They know what the problems are and just refuse to make the process more efficient. As long as they get transactions nothing else matters
