    I am shocked at the professionalism of the Purchasing team. I have truly enjoyed working with them. They have been thorough about my onboarding. They have worked very hard to keep me connected and informed. I am thankful that I accepted the position.

    Stability of county employment and benefits. Work on a team is always helpful.

    Cons

    Work is demanding but can be very rewarding. As with all government jobs there can be a lot of red tape and difficulty with modernizing and using technology to make the job easier.

    The line staff are amazing from probation officers to supervision officers.

    Cons

    The new executive team has little to no experience as actual Juvenile Probation Officers. Very poor management, lack of communication, lack of interaction with staff. The new chief has definitely created a hostile and divisive department JPO’s vs JSO’s.

    You’ll attain customer service skills and knowledge that can help you transition should you choose to. The county has decent benefits and retirement as well.

    As with any customer facing job, when faced with a customer that doesn’t understand something even after you’ve explained it to them, it takes a bit of effort to not get frustrated and instead figure out a way to simplify your explanation. even.
