Great Brands, Lacks Culture andJob Security

      Pros

Great brands, usually hire great people

      Cons

Owned by investors so lack of culture and constant change of leadership. Very focused on EBITs (which directly affects your bonus) and when numbers aren't hit they do company wide layoffs, which does not help with job security or faith in your company.

Management not addressing the fundamental issues

      Pros

Great new office in Oakland. Great people. Everyone is very friendly and starting to build a good culture in the new office.

      Cons

Feels like we are always behind and as a result asked to move at break neck speed on all projects. Change in direction is constant which not only costs the business financially but wastes important resources time. Number of reorgs makes it hard for teams to settle into any sort of rhythm or clear process. Because everyone is asked to do things so quickly and it's not clear who does what this leads to a lot of inefficiency and ultimately more mistakes are made. It's a vicious cycle that is not being addressed.

      Pros

Wine discounts; visiting beautiful properties; some great people

      Cons

Highly political environment; favoritism regardless of your competency & skills; not an encouraging environment to help company succeed. Management culture too good old boy club.

Great experience for those who thrive with change

      Pros

Great people, amazing portfolio of brands.

      Cons

Frequent re-organizations do not allow for any strategy to take hold. As new leaders come in, new strategies are deployed which ultimately confuses employees and distributors.

      Pros

Great brands, great people and Michael Clarke has set a strategic vision that seems to be working

      Cons

Too much turnover and in the past too many shifts in strategy and poor field execution.

      Going backwards everyday!

      Pros

Great people and brands but unfortunately most are pretty unhappy in the main office. If you want a job with this company get one out of the vineyard!

      Cons

Really poor management, from the top down. Really negative culture with people spread to thin to be able to get the work done. New acquisition is being so poorly managed, breading a further negative culture.

      Pros

I joined because of a great portfolio of wines and I already knew some people in the company and they are great people. The "field management" was excellent.

      Cons

Upper management very disconnected. High turnover especially at upper levels. No training period or "on-boarding" process. Possible sale of company conveyed a feeling of uncertainty. Amount of turnover of the likes I've never experienced in any company I've worked for which contributed to bad morale. Atmosphere of "you're on your own" from the moment I started. Lastly, Upper Management played favorites regardless of how well you did your job or not.

Don't let the fake reviews fool you!

      Pros

Some great brands, some great people who work very hard and who care about their work

      Cons

Upper management has asked employees to place fake reviews on Glassdoor to boost their image and to attract potential employees. Beware as tis company is in turmoil.
