Only Care about Sales-High turnover Ridiculous GOALS that can never be achieved!

      Pros

Great Health Benefits & Sales Training, Great Safety & Wellness Program, Awesome Wines!

      Cons

Goals are not attainable! Micromanagement, Lack of transparency & trust from upper management & Fear, Shame & Blame Culture that does not work for a Growth Culture. Everyone is afraid to speak up or rock the boat. Nobody wants to try anything new. "This is how we do it at TWE, you will get used to it" It is very dysfunctional and people are not performing just trying to stay out of trouble. Very top down, OLD school management style. HR creates more problems than solves and are not trustworthy. They do what they are told and don't seem to actually care about the people they represent. TWE THINKS they embrace women but their program She leads does it in a MAD MEN condescending manner that needs to be updated to this century. The home office employees have a disconnect with DTC and they work against each other often having different goals causing friction and snarky behavior on behalf of the home office that is left unchecked.

      Pros

The property is beutiful and landscaping is well groomed.

      Cons

-This company will never want to be good at what they do. Their idea of success is selling wine no matter how terrible the experience or services delivered. -They have little to no vision, experience are thrown together last minute with no attention to detail. Upper management says go and everyone jumps in random direction with zero focus. -During the slow season this company functions very well! Although for the other nine months the whole property is a hot mess. There is no accountability, due to the lack of follow up and training. -Beringer will always be mediocre at best. So if your looking for anything prestigious or something to have pride in I would avoid this company.

      Worst Company in Napa Valley

      Pros

Okay health benefits but that's about it.

      Cons

Where to begin? Upper management doesn't care about the people who are out there, effectively selling their brands to winery guests every day. They offer no proper training or education to make them successful and as a result lose top talent to other companies in the valley. Constant changes and reorganization leave staff stressed, confused, and demoralized. They do nothing about winery managers who are absolute tyrants and running their properties into the ground. The amount of constant turnover at some places should be raising red flags, but I guess as long as the manager is willing to kiss the uppers butts there's no need to look into things further. No real perks or benefits for employees. Yeah you get $100 Visa card to spend on wine every 6 months, but that's about it. Nothing special around holidays. No harvest parties. Bare minimum holiday party lunch while the corporate office gets a fancy, tens of thousand dollar affair at Silverado Resort. Outsourcing their club work to third party companies who constantly mess up orders, can't give proper information, and just create more headache for staff at the actual properties. Add in that if you called out a specific person for constantly messing up, the head manager for that department would chew your head off and insinuate that you're the actual idiot. Seriously, this is a company that cares for nothing else except how to squeeze the most money out of their properties while doing the absolute bare minimum to support the staff who make things happen. It's no wonder they are constantly hosting job fairs to try and get people into basic roles. The only people they can get are the poor suckers who don't already know about them. If you've been working in the industry for more than a couple of years you'll learn how little people think of this company.

      Pros

      Wine discounts and health coverage

      Cons

Management is abhorrent. Re-orgs up to 5 times per year. Layoffs of US staff only to be replaced by AU citizens/TWE employees. Currently in the process of outsourcing up to 40% of the workforce to a 3rd party company in India and management is completely unsupportive of staff willing to remain until March/April handover to collect the “generous 2 week severence packages” for those who choose to stick it out until the end. Those who are brave enough to voice their concerns/opinions to upper management and/or HR are promptly verbally reprimanded by their immediate supervisor.
