I have been working at Tremco Incorporated full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Excellent benefits, fair compensation, great culture.

    Cons

Not really a "con" but the business keeps growing and changing so much it is tough to keep up with all of the changes. Not a bad thing.

I worked at Tremco Incorporated full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

My paycheck never bounced and that's about it.

    Cons

If you want to work long hours for low pay while your boss is looking for ways to blame you for his mistakes then this is the place for you.

    Advice to Management

Don't just talk the talk, you have to walk the walk. They always follow what other companies are trying to do to maintain employee engagement, but in all my time there I never found one manager who was willing to put the employees first instead of themselves.

I worked at Tremco Incorporated full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

2 week vacation starting out. Good Medical plan

    Cons

Everyone doesn't get paid the same. If you can drink with the supervisors and talk sports you will get a better raise. They do not give you a raise on job performance. You are overlooked if you are a woman unless you flirt with supervisors.

    Advice to Management

Treat people fairly, and watch your supervisors more closely. Take complaints serious and follow up with employees. HR needs to be more approachable instead of treating you like you interupted. HR needs to followup with as well. If employee is due for automatic raise in the company policy than pay them, with out employees have to beg for what is due to them and wait for months and sometimes a year.

I worked at Tremco Incorporated full-time

    Pros

Potential for good pay if you work 24/7, throw your family away and play with the sluts at Corp. Unfortunately they will do anything for business.

    Cons

Company moral compass and ethics has been lost on the growth path of becoming bigger and better. Endless action items that really don't lead to any sustainable growth in revenue and or profit. Not a company that embraces family values or professionalism.

    Advice to Management

Recruit kids so you aren't breaking up Families with your poor ethics, party time mentality and a "material credit" will resolve all sins attitude.

I have been working at Tremco Incorporated full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    2 wks vacation, 96 hour attendance policy, 401 k

    Cons

Not everyone is paid the same doing the same job. Supervisors have favorites where if you go and party with them than you will get better pay raises and promtions.

    Advice to Management

When you have policys in place than act on it. Quit cheating people out of money that they deserve. You do for one than do for all. Have appreciation days for employees every now and than.

I have been working at Tremco Incorporated full-time

    Pros

Growing company - company is acquiring new businesses and divisions on an ongoing basis

Hit target numbers - company hits goals annually

    Cons

Nepotism - if you aren't related to someone at Tremco, friends with someone, or a friend of the family you will never be promoted. They give top management jobs to family members with little to no experience. If you don't want to advance your career it is an ok place to work, but if you have drive and ambition and aren't related to upper management then don't accept a position here.

Toxic work environment - people blame others for their failures instead of taking responsibility. Negativity and passing the buck are daily occurrences and it is tolerated by management.

Too many frivolous meetings - meetings are useful when progress is made, but several employees use meetings to mask that they don't know how to execute their duties and they do this by scheduling frivolous meetings to appear as though they are busy and productive.

    Advice to Management

Start promoting talented people with proven successes not friends and family; otherwise your business will start to fail or become stagnant. Top positions shouldn't be given to people based on popularity and how they are related. You lose talented people who could advance your company to new heights because of this.

I worked at Tremco Incorporated full-time

    Pros

Provides lot of opportunities for interns to interact with the management and learn from them.
You are able to significantly contribute to the team and learn as you
Managers are friendly and make you feel welcome
Most of the interns are able to get a full time position once they graduate from school

    Cons

    There weren't any negative experiences.

I have been working at Tremco Incorporated (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good healthcare & benefit packages, work environment is pretty laid back (for the most part), and most people are easy to work with.

    Cons

A lot of talk about changing culture, but few (if any) actions have been taken to implement the proposed changes. The company has come up with some good product theories, but putting them to task has become difficult, as well as time & money consuming. Depending on the department & the time of the year, the work-life balance can be heavily skewed towards work.

    Advice to Management

The mantra of the culture change was to fail fast if we were to fail at all. Follow that advice and do not keep throwing money at product lines that are costing an arm and a leg, only to continually produce negative returns. Remove the stigma attached to working from home, as many of our jobs could easily be done remotely.

I worked at Tremco Incorporated full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great place to work. Great educational programs. Supportive HR and always employee focused.

    Cons

Fixed Hierarchy. Decentralized management leading to lack of alignment in systems and approaches between regions. Independent Representatives are given too much power to detemine company policy. Lack of integration with other Tremco Businesses

    Advice to Management

Tremco has a very specific and unique approach to Roofing Services that hinges on relationships with smaller communiitiies. This approach does not lend itself to urban areas were buying groups tend to be larger, My advice would be to divest the name Tremco from the Roofing Services division and create a separate roofing group targeted more at commodity market to leverage Tremco Sealants and Roofing systems together.
