I worked at Trend Micro (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I really enjoyed working with my co-workers. We would help each other as much as possible. The health benefits were nice too.

    Cons

My position was moved to Texas and I was not moving with it. It seems like new management is more concern about control rather than helpful support.

    Advice to Management

I know sometimes earning money is important but sometimes it is better to spend a little more to have a better support team. Moving to Texas and losing much of the experienced support personal will not benefit the overall view of the company.

I have been working at Trend Micro full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits, some quite unique. $10000 company coverage for adopting a child, for example! Generous vacation policy. Small performance bonuses.

    Cons

I was brought into the Trend Micro fold via acquisition 6 months ago, so I have limited time as an employee, but thus far have seen no real cons. They are a little fussy about having to acrue vacation prior to taking it, but since the vacation policy is generous, it's not a big deal

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good corporate citizenship policy. The world needs more corporations like you.

    Pros

The working atmosphere there was totally different then other tech-coms in Taiwan. It provides flexible working hours, free coffee, and free snacks. Managers there were also open-minded, who always embraced new technology.

    Cons

    Less bonus share each year

    Pros

Relaxed environment, decent compensation, regular hours, regular company events, decent business model, growing market

    Cons

Office Politics, Poor benefits for contractors, an unending state of transition... The company has changed hands 4 times in the past 5 years

    Advice to Management

Re-evaluate the lower management structure some shady practices are taking place there.

I have been working at Trend Micro full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

My team members locally and globally were extremely collaborative and genuine. No backstabbing which was refreshing. For the most part I could define what I wanted to do in the role and management was supportive. Supported my membership to PMI.

    Cons

No growth for the role in the group. And not encouraged to get outside paid training.

    Pros

I can't think of a single positive thing about working here. You might find some cool people to hang out with, but the vast majority of people that work here are full of themselves or they've had their soul sucked out.

    Cons

Lol, where to begin. If you think they will compensate well, no they won't. TrendMicro is like the sandman they sell you hopes and dreams but never deliver on any of them. If you started working there recently, be warned, get out while you still can. You will have no room to move up fast unless you know how to suck up like a champ and even then it's no guarantee. I liken it to being in prison, if don't form alliances fast, well let's just you will be dropping the soap a lot. It all just boils down to politics there is lots of it.

    Advice to Management

Go and fire yourselves and your clueless lower management too. I've never seen worse leadership in my life then at Trend, absolutely no vision. This is by far the worst thing about Trend is their managers. Let me just say very low EQ.

I worked at Trend Micro full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great pay, great benefits, great coworkers. Work experience is not bad as far as facing all kind of challenges in preparation for the future.

    Cons

Extremely political. Success depends on whose behind you kiss and what side of the northern border you came from. Meeting or exceeding goals is totally optional as long as you are connected with the empty suits.

    Advice to Management

Hire people that you trust and let them do their job.
