I have been working at Trex Company full-time

    Pros

The work is hard, but that means most of the people are hard-working. There's a lot to like about the bonuses, benefits, etc. Things are trending positively and the company is growing fast, extremely profitable and passing a bit of that gain onto the employees. I'm very satisfied with my manager, and their manager; I believe there's a lot of people throughout the company that have excellent visions for the future and...

    Cons

Sometimes I feel like the success of the company is not passed onto the workforce -- that the base workers are just perceived as a monolith, and any improvements in the company are seen as coming from the upper management. There's an often repeated sentiment that a single yearly bonus of an executive is enough to give the entire workforce an extra 4k at the end of the year -- inaccurate or not, that's the feeling many...

    Advice to Management

With the margins what they are, I wish the company would be more aggressive in improving employee pay and working conditions. The overall quality of the product is absolutely affected by how much the employees care about the final result and vision for the company. The workers will always double what you invest in them with productivity and quality. There's often talk about the way the former CEO doted on the workers...

Communication was sometimes an issue between departments, but that was starting to improve.

    Advice to Management

I worked at Trex Company full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great benefits and pay, vacation, 401k and team members are friendly

    Cons

Favoritism and limited room for growth

    Advice to Management

Set your team members up so they can learn and grow and ask them for their opinions on positions they're interested in and actually follow through, it's understandable that it may not be done during the busy season but there is a lot of frustration on the crews because of this.

    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at Trex Company for more than 3 years

    Pros

A paycheck and benefits. That's about it.

    Cons

Former CFO and new CEO now in place pushing "cost cutting" What a surprise. Now micro-management from sale managers, busy work, CRM BS and all the other crap that comes with the change. Was a great place under Ron Kaplan who was demanding but fair. Now, CYA at the top and middle management boys club. Sales folks et the gooey end of the stick. Unfortuneate as the comapny was a good place to work. Not now.

    Advice to Management

Stop the suck-up to the executives and patting one another on the back. Appreciate what your sales people have to do and go through as the feet on the street. Oh yea, how about doling out a few more sheckles while your at it as we have bills to pay too. Maybe cut down on a few of your booz fests with "customers" Yeah, right.
